I'm in the process of changing my radiator because my coolant in my reserivor was losing coolant quick. I just found this tube that was tucked away

What is it and where does it connect to?

I have the other tube that connects to the radiator... Could that tube been the reason why I was loosing so much coolant

For some reason I'm still loosing coolant in my reservoir and the temp is going up... Could it just be a air bubble? What could be leaking?

Make sure it is filled all the way above the fins. I made that mistake

Fill it all the way to the fill port itsself. Needs to fill the top section of the rad

I filled the radiator all the way to full but only filled up the reservoir half way to full cause I ran out of coolant. But doing that it shouldn't drain the coolant. What do you think? And I just got some more coolant and filled it up

You filled it to full from empty and ran it for a little bit right? When you do do that the thermostat will open and the level will drop, requiring you to add more.

Oh that makes sense... I'll drive it around for a little bit more and see if it still leaks.

What should I be watching for? To see if the coolant drops levels?

Take the cap off, cut the truck on, and when it drops below the top edge of the radiator add some water (since youre out of coolant)

Watch your temp though if it gets too hot cut the truck off

Ok, put the cap back on then let it cool down some then drive it like you said

I drove it and the reservoir was full this time. Im gonna check again tomorrow to see if it's at the same level. Lol I'm too paranoid about my coolant level cause it never stays full [emoji15]

The temp is still running high but it's probably just working the air out like you said but the coolant level is the same. Did you have to refill your transmission fluid after changing your radiator? I think mines kinda low

Yeah you have to add a little to make up for what was lost while the lines were disconnected

I notice your coolant is green. It is supposed to be the orange Dexcool. Regular antifreeze is not good for our trucks.
