Calif. lawmakers seek toughest gun laws in nation

SACRAMENTO, CALIF.

Weeks after New York enacted the nation's toughest gun laws, California lawmakers said Thursday they want their state to do even more in response to recent mass shootings, particularly the Connecticut school massacre.
Democrats who control the state Legislature revealed 10 proposals that they said would make California the most restrictive state for possessing firearms.

Someone on another board pointed out they've already been slapped by the courts for at least one of those proposals, so why they're trying again is beyond me.

Some parts of it will pass but it'll get knocked down by the courts.

It's already bad enough as it is, they got a 10 day limit on everything private or public sale, plus a ****load of paperwork.

Took me 2 hours of paperwork for my last purchase... the new bills would make my ruger 10/22 an assault weapon...

Long term I don't see myself in CA, planning to start my own business and its machine tool/CNC and gun related so I'd be heading to a friendlier state long term thinking.

But for now working in the motion picture side I'm stuck here.
