BFG KM2's tread life

Im running the BFG A/T right now and there gonna need to be replaced here soon, I like them but I've always liked the km2 look, but I'm treads wondering what the tread life on the KM2? And if I end up getting them it'll be in 315/75/16...

Jon, Probably depends on type of driving you do. How much city, highway, or offroad. I've had the KM2s on my H1 for 4-5 years and love them. Probably about 20000 street mile and lots of Moab trips and still look good. I'll probably replace them next year just because not that they really need it. Know this really did not answer your question but the tires are great.

I also won't answer your question either, but they KM2s are louder so that should be another consideration. I doubt my KM2s will last quite as long as the ATs but the ATs, in my opinion, last unnaturally long due to the harder compound used in those tires. You will likely give up treadlife for traction but it is not an absurd difference. I expect to get at least 40,000 out of my KM2s where the ATs were easily good for 50,000.

The KM2'S are a great tire. I was at roughly 40k when one of mine developed a huge bubble. The others still had decent tread left. But most of my miles are highway. Although they did see a lot of off road use and held up well. Key thing with them is make sure you rotate them. You won't see anywhere near the mileage of the AT'S with them and they are a lot noisier

I have had my for 30000 miles with about half tread life left. I rotate about every 3 months. They are my DDs and atleast once a month mud slinger/sand digging/rock crawlers. I followed Recons H3 all around Uwharrie with them. I will be buying another set

Well I'll have to look into these, don't care much about noise, I'm more highway too, and only a few off road trips also... Soooo.... I think my next set will be some KM2's.... I just rotated my BFG AT at 35,000 so I have some time before I get them to save up for all 5 km2's! Haha

I have had several sets of the KM2s and haven't worn one out yet. Great tires.

I've got just under 40K miles on mine, love them. If the wallet agree's i'll get the 35's before winter. The noise wasn't really any worse than a discover stt which is the last tire i ran (on my old colorado). They've held up great to the offroad abuse as well, my OG bfg m/t's would chunk and get cuts in them from wheeling, these don't seem do have that issue. Great traction on/offroad, winter is okay for a m/t but not the greatest.

I rotate mine every other oil change, these things cup like motha if you don't rotate.

How do the KM2's do in loose dirt? The terrain I have lots of different terrain...mud, rocks, snow, moab slickrock and dirt sometimes very very loose dirt like yesterday.

My experience with off road tires on a street driven vehicle is that the compound will harden to the point that off-road performance is very noticeably impaired well before they are actually "worn out". The last 3 sets of tires I have had on my truck have all been this way, as were the used Cooper STTs that used to be on Todds Jeep.
