Anyone curious what is happening to the old Shreveport plant?

I live in Shreveport and have done work in the powerhouse there for many years. This little car has been talked about for 2 years now but I haven't seen or heard of anything moving forward on it yet.

I do know the site is still shutdown with a small security presence and I know the site utility manager is there part time maintaining some things in shutdown mode.

Casey are there a BILLION. H3s up there? I have never seen so many h3s in one place like I do here. I always wondered if it was because of the plant being close by and worker discounts.

The entrepreneur in me is fascinated by this brand. It will certainly fill a niche (no matter how absurd it is) and, more importantly, will be built by Americans in America, with American-sourced parts -- at least according to their website.
Supposedly over 25k people have put down money to reserve one. (Don't worry, I'm not one of em! ;) ) I don't know that Smart sold anywhere near that, even in its best year. If it actually achieves 84mpg that would be more than double a Smart and even make a Prius look a bit gluttonous....of course it would appear this is at the expense of space, among other things.
I hope it works out for them. At the very least, it'll keep that plant from rotting and create a few jobs along the way.

I don't know about any more H3's around here than anywhere else, but I did get a generous top tier employee discount when I bought my vehicle, even though I was only a contractor.

Best no haggle deal ever. Walked in, picked out what I wanted and they looked up in the computer what my price was. My discount code was already in their system. The sales guy was even shocked at my discount and said it was over $2k cheaper than the common discount.

my father-in-law put in a deposit for one for commuting. It will be a great cost saver opposed to driving the power wagon.

Supplier discount...amazing, but GM still allows me to issue one every month to friends and family. Only thing I have left after leaving GM is the employee discount and the right to issue suppler discounts.
