I had the opportunity to take ARB's company jeep across the Mojave rd last weekend and thought I would share a few pictures. I will probably post a trip report later when I have a little more time.

Looks like a fun trip. I need to make that trip one of these days.

How was driving the Jeep compared to the T?

Did you go to the rock pile in the middle of the lake bed? That is a nice trip at the right time of year. With the rains was the Mojave River up? That trip is a lot more fun when you can splash through the river for a few miles.

I would do it again. Nice relaxing pace, or you can step it up on some stretches. Lots of scenery in the wide open spaces. Lots of history to make it interesting for me at least.
I would try to make it if a group was going, if not, I might venture off on my own but take a Sat phone this time.
I see those sand bridges but did you have boat anchors?:giggle:

It is a fun trip. Not much technical along the way but the blow sand can be fun( H1 in a four wheel drift ) Start in Laughlin, take a nice easy pace, camp out along the way. Lots of old ruins in stuff to stop and see along the way.

Haven't done this trip since my mom flipped my dad's 2001 on it about 7-8 years ago or so.

My dad and I are planning to do this trip. He's looking for a trailer. and I'm more focused on getting my truck spic and span. then I'll maybe look for a trailer on GovLiq.

please do a trail report when you have the chance!

Wow thats a lot of response haha. The road was awesome and I would definitely recommend it. We did stop by the rock pile as well as the mailbox and signed our names. The river was not up at the time and we didnt run into any water.
As far as the jeep vs the T it was an interesting experience. The Jeep definitely has the power that my T lacks however Im sure an Alpha model is a different story. To be honest its a nice car and there are certain things I like such as massively improved visibility and more flex. That said I wouldn't buy one mostly due to it FEELING high and narrow. It probably can tilt almost as much as the T if not more but in the T you feel like you're sitting in the vehicle, not on it.

Chris, are those treds boards in the pic above. If so, did you have to use them & if you did, what do you think of them? I'm looking to add some in my recovery gear bag.

What dys are you looking to run Mohave Rd. in March? If I can make it, I'd like to join you so you don't have to run it by yourself.

Luis they are maxtrax. We didnt have to use them, in fact the road was easy and didnt even require 4WD most of the time. If you are going to buy a set of something similar dont haha. Buy these. They are the absolute toughest and best recovery gear you can buy. These things will last a life time and get you out of anything. Honestly the winch still has its uses for certain situations but in mud/snow/sand recovery these are 1000% better.

I will be roaming around AZ NV and CA the 9th through the 17th of march so if any dates in there work for you just let me know and we can try to coordinate something.

If you can make it out during that time and want maxtrax we can stop by Vegas and pick you up a set in person so I can introduce you to the US distributor. He's an awesome guy and is usually happy to show you around. He has an FJ45 troop carrier and a rally fighter hanging around so its worth the look haha

It's been entirely too long since I was out that way. The road isn't very technical but that's ok. I'd be interesting in going mid March, depending on dates and if the truck is done in the shop.
