Can't for the life of me find a cheap 9600 baud TNC that works with Windows7. Everything is $400+ or doesn't work with anything past Win98. Heck, half the links to TNC pages are dead. Any suggestions? Prefer pre-built, but not afraid of kits.

Just a quick search revealed the MFJ-1270X which works with Windows (2000 or later), Mac OS X, and Linux. Price is $129.95.

According to the online manual for that one: "The out-going or transmit speed is always 1200 baud." I already have a SignalLink that handles 1200 baud, but I need 9600 baud.

What are you making / building?

Depending on the task at hand, a good soundcard and some software might do the trick.....

Building a Winlink station to test the local station, and then to interface with OCRACES' Winlink system. Unfortunately from what I've found soundcard TNC setups don't handle 9600 well. If I disable all system sounds I can get my system to emulate 1200 baud, but I haven't managed anything successfully at 9600 (doubt my laptop has a good sound card) so my remaining option at this point is a serial/USB TNC. That said, trying to avoid spending $400+ on a TNC if I can help it.

If you want, you could try my Signalink USB sound card and see if that works? I've used it reliably with all sorts of digital HF modes including digital SSTV.
