I figured I'd give you all a heads-up in case anybody wants to dream like I am. I was reading through my Jan. '13 issue and saw that they've got an opening for a feature editor.

I've been working on an application letter all evening. :emb: I tell you what... Talk about a dream job. I'll try and do us Hummer-folk proud. Maybe in time I'll offer-up in a post what I'll be sending them later on this week. (Yes, I'm taking my time!)

4WOR can kiss my hairy butt. I've never compared myself to Archie Bunker, but I do believe they're all a bunch of pinko commie f@gs.

Good luck with your application Hans, hopefully you'll remember you used to own a HUMMER after they make you sell yours and buy a Jeep.

Good luck Hans! I never thought there were issues with that magazine. I would actually love to run an ultimate adventure one day...be the first hummer ever? I saw the requirements and unique was one for grabbing their attention. I'm in!

Keep us posted

Hans, in your application, as reference you need to enter all of our names from the forum. Looking at that list they will have to give the spot. You have followers already... Good luck with the opportunity.

 Will do, Doug!

Thanks for the positive feedback (for the most part... ) everyone. I'm still working on a draft of my message to them.

Bebe, did someone really get the gig already?

Sorry I couldn't give you a better feedback for these guys--the reality is they've answered too many reader mails with really snide, degrading remarks. I've been on the forums long enough to know a person needs to have thick skin to get thru life--but when the 4WOR guys take the "mightier than Gawd" and it's my mag stance and beat down the readers, well then, I just have some brightly colored toilet paper.

On a brighter note---if you were going to work with the crew at Crawl magazine, well, I'd have to highly encourage and motivate you---they are straight out of the trenches and know the people they write for. I know their first attempt to get the mag off the ground was quite flawed, so I'm hoping it's headed in a better direction this time.
I emailed Crawl mag while I was deployed in the desert somewhere and they sent me a care package with stickers, an awesome CD with Ian and his buds wheeling in the middle of nowhere and TEARING their trucks up and having a general blast.
I'm pretty sure I could even get the Bebe's stamp of approval on this endorsement!

I dont have much love for that magazine, but hey, if its what you want then good luck in your endeavors. You could always keep in mind Twins suggestion as well. They sound like they come from better stock to me. Just my two pennies. Good luck

Well, like I said Harry just got hired a couple weeks ago - but that doesn't mean they weren't looking for more than one. There are some guys at that magazine I really like - Blumenthal, Pewe, Williams and Wagner - but there are some there that are total A$$es, like CAPPA for example. He makes my blood boil.

When Cappa came out with that abortion "Dirt Kings" a bunch of us Land Use Folks went ballistic on him. He stood his ground until we went grass roots on him and started getting it pulled from store shelves.

I'll bet they're trying to fill the spot of Ali, the guy that did the article on my rig. He bailed because he couldn't deal with all the BS. Don't blame him. I would stay clear of them Hans. Go the Crawl route as suggested.
