The CHMSL assembly is comprised of two different circuit boards containing (I believe 4 LED assemblies each). Usually, it requires a replacement of the entire assembly. However, if it was me, I would remove it and take it apart and attempt to see what broke and possible rebuilding the circuit board. But that's me. Granted it is easier to just replace. One of the suppliers here, GM parts warehouse probably sells the replacement unit.
that doesn't sound too bad, weren't they going for about $350 last year?
Get a used one...$15.
Yup. Ebay is great for stuff like this. You probably can't find one by searching for the light itself. Instead...you gotta find the whole totaled H3, then email the seller about the specific part you're looking for (the brake light). There's tons of em on there...here's a few Ebay members to contact:
spaldingautoparts
laceyautoparts
renos_auto
parts6307
jerrybrownsautopartscenter
donsautomotivemall
wayneautoparts
All of these ebay members have at least one wrecked H3...some have five or six of them.
