Rated up To 625 ft-pounds. GM engineered, my last rebuild was great until the torque converter blew it up… That was the only rebuild component used and was costly. I plan on doing a detailed breakdown of the 4L75 prior to install to see if we can build one of these without having to buy new (about 3450.00)

There was a discussion earlier on ls1tech regarding it and the conclusion was its a beefed up 4l60e that many of the reputable vendors can match and do better!
Offcourse no one did a break down like what you're proposing and personally after 1 failed rebuild and another not so well Im interested to know!

Yes- it was described as GM making the 4L as beefy as the 6L. We will know hopefully next week or two.

I've taken a good look at these on the chevy performance website while browsing for crate engines, and that seems like a pretty good deal. I was leaning towards an upgrade/rebuild kit from monster transmissions and having a reputable local shop tear it apart and build it, but I have a lot more trust in this option lol

We tried to see if we could order one in 4x4 configuration but dealer said they contacted GM and it was only available in 2wd config as of last month so you are on your own to swap tailhousing and output shaft

I’m in it deep enough that shouldn’t be an issue...

Regarding valve body, anyone know how to measure springs? Would like to do a side by side and some measuring as we pull them apart...

I had our local race tranny expert build one for me ( only difference , we used a Z PACK and a CORVETTE servo ). Parts were just a little over $2000.00 with the planetaries being the most expensive. Sure makes one sweet tranny. Go for it!
Yes, the H3 valve body ( part # 24237219) is required. I have a new AC DELCO and a rebuilt VALVE BODY PRO on the shelf (both are in unopened boxes). If someone gets in a pinch, since GM has had them on world wide back order, I can let one go.
Also, be sure to use a metal piston in the 1-2 accumulator.

Amazingly enough, this tranny came with the plastic piston (biggest surprise this far)

These guys are broken down. What do you want to know? You may have to tell me where to find specifics, but should be able to answer most questions. Most upgrades are Sonnax parts. This baby can be built for a fraction of the cost.
