17k $ For an H1

even with all the work it needs?
Looking at the "needs" list and taking into account I'm a function-over-form guy, yeah. What's left on the need list that I would care about would have run maybe $1k (seats, lights, misc hardware, and a makeshift center console). Given I picked up my truck for $2.8k and I've spent $8k repairing and replacing parts (I won't even count garage rent) and it doesn't have the axles I want yet...nor the transmission rebuilt. Sub-$20k for an H1 would have been awesome! It'd have less cargo space than my extended-cab truck, but it makes up for it in other areas.

Besides, then I could be one of the cool kids. :)

Yeah, same here! All about function! That would be an awesome project truck. Find some canvas seats, and keep it as basic as possible. The motor is carbureted so no computer issues. If only I had some spare money!

The guy lowered the price to 16k. if he goes lower maybe that would be a better option than buy an h3

Sent from some shady car dealership looking for an h3

I'd still stay away. Doors don't shut and are held closed by rope or something like it. Where is the engine air filter? If the engine is carburetted then it may have issues with steep angles.

There is a very, very short list of shops that I'd trust to modify an H1 and this guy ain't it

Also remember that an H1 will probably cost you $1-2K in maintenance relatively soon after purchasing it. not to mention whatever neglect that most H1s get from uneducated owners.

I don't think an H3 would have the same scenario.
