Nacho's H3 Build

Got the chance to see Mr Nacho Bellgrande's rig tonight. Oh man, it is looking good and more to come with the build. I remember his first trip with us. His 3 has come A LONG way

Well its time for another minor update.

After harassing Tim over at expedition hardware I was able to score these:



First is the HiLift mounting bracket and the other is the awning mount (apparently it was the first one made)

Here are some pictures of the brackets mounted:
Oh I got one of those fancy Gobi Stealth racks also.


The design and build quality of Gobi's products is so much better then any other rack make I have seen in person.

The awning mount keeps the top of the awning at the same level as the top bar on the stealth so it would not interfere with an RTT (if I ever go that route).
The cover makes the awning look like it sticks up higher but that part can be pushed down.


The hiLlift mount keeps the jack close to the body without blocking the doors. The locking knobs are a great touch.


Still trying to decide on what lights to put on the Gobi.

Like always it was a pleasure dealing with Tim and EH would recommend going through him.

I was just in Bishop this weekend! I hope to make the Bishop trip just have to see how my schedule gets in July. I also picked up some tail maps for the eastern sierra you can take a look at if you'd like for planning future runs.

I have been wanting to explore on some of my childhood trails but many are closed down now. I heard the south part of Coyote is all barricaded along with the Black Rock Mine route. Casa Diablo has a lot of little forks branching off here and there that provide some scenic views. One day . . .

Tail maps? Are those maps of the hottest bars and nightclubs in the Sierra's?

Awesome. Rig looks super clean, i've always wanted to see that chrome guard painted-looks good! Those tires fit the 3 really well, makes me eager for my 33 km2's to wear out, they've been stuck at the same spot for quite a while! In january i was thinking okay by summer ill replace them, and now i'm thinking okay by winter. Around 40k on them and they've probably got 9/32 left, that's with out rotating the spare in. With my 35's i think i will rotate the spare in, should last quite a while.

Where did you get the gas tank for the rear door?

I went with this adapter from trail duty. :link: I will be running a Blitz can for now since I got a couple free from a friend but in the future I may switch to rotopax. The bracket is currently on back order so call and check with TD before ordering.

Thanks Harv. It was seeing the GOBI on your truck that convinced me to get mine. Ive been pretty happy with my KM2s have about 15,000 miles on them already. I have been thinking about getting a set of 33"s AT's for commuting.
