    Let’s Talk Handheld navigation/Satellite Phones.

My iPhone (14 plus) is sometimes accurate, sometimes not. I can guess where I’m at most of the time, but normally it’s off. I’ll Probably aim for one with a bigger screen, I don’t do super long hiking routes that would necessarily require gps. Mainly getting there when cell reception is minimal...

    Oil usage observations

Have some miles since last comment. Drove up and did a lot of fishing up in the white mountains this weekend, including the climb getting to Hannagan meadow. Lots of high rev, 6-8% grades all weekend totaling 550 miles. Only burned fuel. One thing to note is that at 9k feet the truck had no...

    Let’s Talk Handheld navigation/Satellite Phones.

As I find myself to be in the middle of nowhere, alone and without cell service. I have been carrying around my baofeng with preset emergency channels, however I just don’t think that’s enough. And downloading sections on google maps just isn’t that reliable. Been looking into the garmin line...

    U0101 Code and TCM issues

If you can gain access to the technical manuals for your year you can go down the troubleshoot tree for process of elimination. Maybe an all data subscription for short term? I’d try and help but my technical manuals for 06 h3’s. And they had the pcm/tcm in the same unit.

    Engine / Trans Programmers

The factory shift points were very frustrating on AZ highway grades. Send your pcm to pcm for less, can have them tune the motor as well to get a little more power out of it. I personally went with disabling passlock with how much i find myself to be in the middle of nowhere.

Will you be doing a v8 swap if the motor goes? I’ll be leaning toward that route, it’ll also make it much easier to install a 6 speed.

    Oil usage observations

My motor has 190k on it, and oil consumption is progressively more and more as it aged. I wouldn’t recommend on a new/newer motor. My brother did the same in his as well and it’s working for him too. There is something to be said about going too heavy with the oil. But the small bump from 5-30...

What did you do with your H3 recently? NEW

Nice change of pace this weekend. Fished for some native Gila trout in Arizona. Took the H3 to save 3 miles of hiking.

PHR 2002 Hummer H1 Open Top Restoration.

The new owner will be taking much better care. This much damage and it had less than 30,000 original miles. All in for parts and labor was ~60k. Some parts would show up then disappear from market, so to get it on time there was some expense. Overall a big learning curve

PHR 2002 Hummer H1 Open Top Restoration.

Customer took delivery of this truck on Friday last week. While he really enjoyed the ride quality, appeal, workmanship. He said he’ll be bringing it back in for PHR performance modifications shortly. Simple before/after

Final stage includes driving the truck out of its bay, and test drives. (Video to come later). I may be skewed, but I think think this truck came out exactly how we wanted it to.

PHR 2002 Hummer H1 Open Top Restoration.

This is the stage where everything combines, connects, blends and comes together. Or what I like to call, the trouble phase. When you disconnect all systems, then bring them all back together, there will always be a time period of trouble shooting and figuring out issues. This was that stage...

Reassembly and the final stage of the truck is one of my favorite moments in all of this. When you tear apart an H1 you’re thinking in the back of your head that there’s no way this all goes back together right. But in reality it’s just one nut and bolt at a time. Featured are Midwest military...

PHR 2002 Hummer H1 Open Top Restoration.

While the truck came in for a frame replacement/restoration, we were shortly after tasked with making reused parts look good. This took up a huge chunk of the total restoration. But the payoff was well worth the time spent removing, cleaning, painting, and fixing if necessary. Below is just a...

PHR 2002 Hummer H1 Open Top Restoration.

Hello all, As many as you know, I work for PHR (Phoenix Hummer Repair) and we have been working on a complete frame restoration. Parts of the body and motor weren’t touched as it’ll be a later project as the customer enjoys their truck for the time being. The truck came in due to a rusted out...

What did you do with your H3 recently? NEW

Welcome to the I5, struggle. Stay a while! You’re not passing anyone going up grades unless you make the I5 scream. Elevation doesn’t help. It’s manageable if your climbing grades below 6000ft elevation. If you choose to do a SAS regearing helps a lot.
