Does the Army allow soldiers to wear utilities out in public? At the airport and there's a PFC in his utes. Is that a normal thing for you guys? Wouldn't even think about wearing my camies off base, but maybe it's just a Marine thing

Yes and no, most soldiers in uniform on the airport are either coming back from basic or ait if they have no unit patches on their sleeves if they do have unit patches on their sleeves and a IR flag, it means they coming from deployment and are on leave, if they have unit patches on but regular Flag then either they are on duty or official business(army doesn't really use the dress blues or formal uniforms as much as marines do)..."or they are just POG's or dush bags requiring attention wanting military discount and first class upgrade on the plane, not wanting to pay for baggage, which is usually wave by showing the clerks your DOD ID"

Also if you see them on the public after duty hrs at restaurant with family then probably that's what it is, fam gathering and sometimes they want you on uniform.

Unlike marines we are allow to stop to get gas , food, beer, and petty much do whatever you want as long as you don't disrespect the uniform or your action do not reflect negatively on yourself unit or the army. Again most of us do this inside post right after release. Those outside soldiers on uniform after duty hrs either got caught doing some other **** or are dush bags cherry Fvcks, we love and respect that uniform but after wearing 5-7 day a week for 8-10 hrs a day the cool high speed factor wears off and we want comfy scheiße.
