I went through the Corvette plant a long time ago. It is worth the trip to see how quickly they can assemble a vehicle.

There are a lot of things not shown. Such as they show the IP being installed, but somewhere in the plant is a IP assembly station where the IP and all its components are installed and then the complete assembly is shipped over to the final assembly line.
Also, if for example, of one the doors is damaged during assembly, they have high contrast doors laying off to the side to install. Example, a white truck is being manufactured and a door comes in with damaged paint, a RED or BLACK door will be installed in its place. This prevents the line from being stopped until a white door can be produced, and allows the the workers to determine if a vehicle needs to be pulled over after the DVT testing is done. Then it will sit until a new door is obtained.

Very cool! It really makes me ponder just how much work went in to setting up the assembly line just that way, especially remembering that *everything* is the way it is for specific reasons.
