Hey guys, I haven't been posting to much because I was busy working this summer, but now that I'm at college I have a lot more time on my hands, but during this summer, I finally got my 100 ton captains license with a commercial towing endorsement. I had to take 6 different parts, and it took about 4 hrs, including navigation with a big 10ft chart. After passing the tests, sending in 30pgs of paperwork, background check, physical, drug test, TWIC card, and many other things, I received the license a few weeks ago :2funny. I have ran several trips so far before I went back to college. Now its time to make a annual h40 fishing trip

Congrats Ron. That's a great accomplishment. You should give yourself a pat on the back- you've earned it!

Thanks guys:cheers: , I needed 720 days at sea to get my license, on a boat 50 tons or bigger, and they only take time from when your 15 and up, I'll be 21 in oct., I had 744 days at sea since I was 15 and I just made it for time :), and that doesn't include the time spent studying and taking tests and paperwork lol. Im excited I finally got it after all this time and work:) . If you guys want to, next summer we can do a fishing trip, we just need to make a date and ill set it aside for h4o, and the boat is docked in Point pleasant beach, NJ. Its 65ft long and 22ft wide in the stern

Very cool and congrats! What a charge it is to be top dog on deck! I spent a few years on two Navy ships and earned a Fleet OOD letter back in the 80s, so I have an idea of your accomplishment. I also have a brother in New Jersey, so I show up there once in a while. I will keep track of the upcoming H4O fishing schedule!
