That trip look looks like you had an awsome time!! All H3s all the time. I was out in Moab last summer with the H3, but would have been great with other fellow owners.

Black Sheep Hummer Squadron is amazing, and shows perfectly what Hummers are capable of
Here in Spain almost everyone think (without fundament) that Hummer is crap. I show them usually your videos and show in person what the Hummer is capable of and mind here is changing

I watched the other video segments ....where your leaf spring plate broke. That made the trip interesting and memorable I bet.
That was one of those aftermarket short-shock plates wasn't it? Or was it one you made? I didn't think those that were available a while ago looked that durable (which is why I never bought one). Nice you were able to field remove it/replace and get on with the group eventually.

it was an older generation Schwarttzy plate. It was my fault though, after the first plate broke, I think it was a Russian guy…..I got a new one piece set from schwarttzy. But I was lazy and didn’t swap them out. But I was lucky it broke on the trail and not on the highway at speed. That could’ve been catastrophic. Some of the guys got the broken plate rewelded in town and brought it to me the next day.

Did you figure out what causes the tcase failure? What happened? A hole in the case? Could be interesting considering that the rubber plate inside is something that worried me a little...

Most of Us are confident it was from when the spring plate broke. The axle came off and pushed upward and forward. Was on an incline so the weight of the vehicle pushing back on the axle. Basically the rear driveshaft got pushed into the tcase. Wasn’t apparent right away because I was able to wheel the rest of the week. It was on a straight dirt road when we finally heard clicking and realized something was wrong with the tcase.

It seems that happened in the front slip yoke area, where chain move the front slip yoke. Did you ever open the transfer case to see what causes those cuts?
I think that maybe the broken plate causes something, but seeing that those cuts are in the front slip yoke area, i think that the only possibility is the snubber plate breaking free and causing that!
4speedfunk has some thread talking about that snubber plate failure and how to reinforce it
Hope we can discover more about that failure and adress that in the future!
