Yes it will. Make sure the button returns to normal position. It also could the switch sticking that the button pushes I no longer remember what the internals of that switch look like.

Make sure battery is good and fully charged. Also check battery connections.

Interesting. I got the Range AFM disabler when number 4 the vacuum pump failed and was anticipating eliminating that. When I tried the disabler, I didn't notice any difference in power or how the engine runs.
