Mopar now makes a kit for it too. its called the J-8. Off road evolution did a conversion for rancho so rancho could show it off at sema. Its pretty cool looking

Im diggin the lifted semi thing in the back haha

It's an International Harvester. It became very trendy to modify them a few years back. You can get them as double cab pickups. I would love one as a tow rig with a camper in the rear. :D

I think "Red Jacket" is that gun shop from the Discovery series "Sons of Guns"...

The J8 kit turns the 4 door JK into what you see...without the lift/ bumper/ etc.
They have a weld in kit and a bolt in kit. it is very labor intensive. My local dealer has done 2 and sold them both for over $50K.
The JK8 kit is $6K. Add lift/tires/bumpers add labor/ bodywork $18K. So for an additional $24K on top of your $35K+ 4 door JK, you can have one.

We looked at building one through a partnership with another company and selling it. it is a ton of labor involved!
If you want to see what goes into the build, shoot me a PM and I'll send you a bunch of pics.

I just got the email back from v werks they said they are building them for $40k if you supply the jeep. lol I add up the list of stuff they sent me with high side prices since they didn't include individual prices, and it came out to about $22k'is in parts retail. so $18 worth of labor??

He said if they dropped down to 35" KM2s the price would be lower I was like duh.

That price is for the exact replica though he is supose to get back with me on the price with everything except for the red jacket logos all over it.

Very labor intensive! there's a video on youtube of ORE drilling out one spot weld. It took a good amount of effort and there's over 600 of them to be drilled out

I have drilled out many of spot welds on all sorts of vehicles its not that bad if you have the right bit. Yes there is a lot I would say more time consuming than labor intensive. no differnet and actually easier than replacing a quarter panel on a car. Truck bedsides which is about the same as a heep is pretty simple just takes time.

There is a video on youtube of the bolt on conversion with a team of guys that do it in a about an hour. Yes the weld on kit will take 10x that

that is true...I should of termed it differently. I guess it doesnt take much intensive labor to sit there with a drill. It does seem boring as hell though after 600 times

What really sucks, You feel good once your done with the first side then you realize you have a whole nother side to go. Then on most new panels dont come with holes you have to dill the holes to spot weld the new one on. Makes you wana jam a screw driver in your eye.

Tim recommended my brother to AEV products and their stuff is top notch! I wish they would make some stuff for an H3 :sigh:

Had the pleasure of visiting the R&D facility in Missoula, Montana. Fall of 2010 - awesome little shop they have up there. They're Jeep only however, and JK/TJ for the most part.

OK they got back with me if you take off the Red Jacket theme and drop down to a 37" tire instead of the 40" it's only $21.5k

Is that for the whole truck or for the conversion process to a truck you already have?
