Alright I've mostly semi successfully installed a new Pioneer stereo to replace my Monsoon unit. Yay!!! Although... it's giving me loud popping and static, off and on, but too much to endure a road trip with. I'm using the following:

Pioneer stereo
Gmos-4 interface
I think I need a better interface. I'll probably finish this after Black Sheep week.

Well I replaced the axxess interface with a crutchfield interface and it sounded great. Swapped out the dash panel with a new one cuz mine was damaged, was putting it all back together, and something happened and I lost all power to the Hummer. I still have some power to the audio interface if I plug that in, but I get no dash power, ignition, can't shift or close the windows. Ugggg!!!!

Thinking I might have blown a fuse i checked the main fuses in the fusebox and everything seems OK. I replaced the 125 mega fuse too and nothing. Now I've got a dead h3 with a theoretically great stereo upgrade.

Any pointers on next steps in troubleshooting? I'm not quite to take it to an auto electric shop and would like to fix it myself.

I've replaced mine with a Power Acoustik 10.2" touchscreen and will give it mixed reviews. When I originally installed it, everything worked fine, but I didn't have my frt/rr cameras installed. I installed the cameras several months later and the plugs in the back of the unit didn't have enough space for metal framing under the dash and the plugs kept getting smashed. So now there's no cameras and the android auto has quit working.
Also don't recommend that larger of a screen unless you plan to completely rebuild your console. It blocks the 4x4 buttons and A/C controls.

I purchased my aftermarket din stereo with a back-up camera and all the adaptors on Ebay
I took the H3 to a 'stereo shop' and they installed the stereo [ included installing the back-up camera]
***Cost $200- for the stereo shop labor.

Wow that's pretty reasonable lol! I'm wondering the quality that the installer provided on the job...because I'm an absolute stickler for efficiency, style + safety with electrical installs. Post pics of electrical in dash plz!

Looks like a nice radio!

I'm sticking with the original NAV Monsoon radio in my rig for now. It's been upgraded to an 1/8" input to the XM many yrs ago. I'm thinking I might upgrade the plug-in to B/T one of these days.

My H3's frame is rotted.... anyone have a decent rust-free frame?? PM me if you do 👍
