Well I say his number 1 mod he needs to do when it comes back is ad a snorkel on it!!! Just so it may save the engine next time.

Yep, i'm going to be focusing on protection since I have performance down. Then i'll be looking at a rancho/sas. This is using nearly all of my money, and the rest of it will most likely go to un for seen factors. So it will take me almost a year to save enough to get something like that done. I'll be sure to do everything I can to get you guys as much info as I can!

Yep it's going to be a 6 speed automatic, I haven't talked to mash motors in depth yet. I just talked to them and said I might be sending a Hummer their way. Today i'll most likely have more answers for you guys. Thanks for the support!

It will flex less than the aluminum housing. Remember our diffs are 3piece with each piece having 1 mounting point so flex is horrible with them. The alphas and IIRC the later model trucks ran CI. But with that much power you will want that and the stiffer bushings one of our forum sponsors sells.

So I took somewhat of a hit today, they have 6 Hummers in line right now. So it will take them about 3 months until they can start working on it. But this also gives me more time to look at all the connections and make sure they are sound before I send it out:

I love the idea of what your doing, its only money right. But hit the brakes, lay all the cards on the table, weight the pros and cons and them make your your are doing the right thing. Decisions made on emotion rather than rational thoughts rarely ever work out, so I really wish you the best of luck in this endeavor and hope you land on your feet with whatever happens. But for that kind of cash ola, I would have to look at other options. Like seriously considering letting the insurance total it or parting it out and purchased another vehicle until I could get right side up on my cash-flow. Then once you get on your feet and you've got some cash back in your pocket, go buy a used rig and do whatever the hell you want to it. Life has a funny way of smacking you upside the head and I don't care who you are or what financial position you are in, something always comes up that you were not expecting and did not plan for. For instance, gremlins eat your truck alive, your girlfriend gets pregnant, you have to move for a job, you loose your job, you loose a leg, you loose an arm, you get the point. You, me, nor anyone else can predict the future so you have to be prepared for some uncertainty, its a part of life. You really are not leaving yourself much wiggle room for the what ifs. Either way, like I said, good luck and hope it all works out and you land on your feet.

Good to hear that you'll be getting the new 6.2l. I wish you could get a 5 speed tranny, that would really help h3s on the hwy mpgs. I would really look into a CI front diff or maybe something different altogether.

There is a reason why GM changed it to CI with the v8 models and one can assume that one of there reasons was to handle the increased power from the i5 to the v8. Now your getting an even more powerful v8 so you should seriously consider upgrading it to CI or if there is an even better option out there get that.

I'd also look in to how much hp/torque that stock transfer case can take, and maybe look at the rear diff as well.. Basically look at your entire powertrain and make sure it can withstand the power of the new 6.2l v8.

It would suck if you get your truck back from them and then 500 miles later BOOM blown transfer case/differentials...
