Hello,

I am new to this forum and I have been reading lots of post on the forum, but none of them really answered my question.
My question is: How is a Hummer H2 on a road trip?
Maybe it's the wrong place to ask my question.

Thank you!

Very comfortable. Best riding 4x4 ever. Never had any major issues with either of mine. For a road trip the ride is great, lots of room, comfortable seating, quiet. etc. Not the greatest gas mileage but outside of that I would jump into an H2 anytime for a road trip.

I LOVE road trips in the 2!! Super comfortable, roomy, smooth ride, and ready to pull off the highway for any spontaneous excursions.

It's like driving a lazy boy down the highway. Just make sure you have the gas stations mapped out

One of the most comfortable rides out there, rugged, can get through any situations you run into (weather wise) and even being no longer made, Everyone notices a Hummer. Just watch any movies that involves Super Hero's or just Hero's in general, and you will always see a Hummer! My H2 will always be my favorite vehicle.

All mine were uneventful. No issues at all. I have driven hundreds of miles, wheeled all day and then driven hundreds of miles back.

Same as 3Hummers, have driven 15 hours out, wheeled for the week and drove home. Trying to make a 6 hour drive, wheel and turn around. The 2 is an awesome truck to drive and wheel

Same as the others. Most comfortable rig I've ever had. We did a 2600 mile trip through Glacier over Going To The Sun road, Montana, Yellowstone, through the Grand Tetons, etc, with a family of 6 and camping gear. Only thing to complain about is the gas, but it's worth it. I'm rolling on 37" MT tires too.

H2. Front seats are great. Not enough legroom for the kids in the rear seat. And until I get a tire carrier for the bumper, not enough room for luggage.

And people think I'm crazy when I say its too small. BTW - I love it. Looking for a 8.1 liter to drop in it.

I don't know that I've ever road tripped the deuce without our travel trailer strapped on the back. Most recent was driving from Florida to California, 2000 miles in all with the trailer on back.
I've got factory air suspension and my buddy who made the trip with me was amazed at how smooth and controlled the deuce was with a trailer behind it. I'd try to prepare him for how slow the trip would be as the truck wants to heat up at highway speeds pulling that much weight, but we made the drive in late October and it ran extremely well.
This was an uneventful trip, always tons of room for the wife and 3 kids, but again, all their junk is usually in the trailer---that's the way to travel. Pull over when you get tired or hungry and hang out in the trailer or park it for the night.
The truck has always been a blast to drive, but you gotta know if you're going to step up your going to put gas in it. There's no bitching about it, just a fact of life you go into when you buy one. I was getting 5.8 to just over 6 mpg pulling the trailer for those 2000 miles, that's about $1000 in gas at around $3 a gallon. I never regretted it, in this truck it's about living life and enjoying the world.
