Does that add much weight to the door? The ones I have used were pretty heavy.

Scarsman, it does add some weight, but as long as your door lifts aren't to old (I replaced mine last year, new ones only run about $25 bucks for both!) the weight won't effect the opening, and I have it mounted with easy release straps, the same ones we use on our Fire trucks where I volunteer.
