I am heading to LCC for a shakedown run. I will be also teaching a couple new people to wheel their Jeeps. Might as well make this an official run!

Description
: Last Chance Canyon (LCC) is a fun trail with intermediate boulder crawling. We recommend trucks to have at least 33" tires and steps removed. Lockers and rock rails are helpful but not required. Most of the run will take place in the bottom of a canyon with one steep hill climb. This is a good trail for beginners to learn technical driving.

When
: April 27th, 2013

Where: Garlock, CA

Time: 10am we will be hitting the trails. We will be meeting around 9:30 to air down and a quick safety meeting. Expect a full day of trails so bring a lunch to eat while we wheel.

Meeting Spot: Trailhead on the south end of the canyon just off of Randsburg Road. :link:

Trails: Last Chance Canyon

We will be heading north up Last Chance Canyon. If time is good, we will swing by the Burro Schmidt Mine. We will then come back down Last Chance Canyon on the way back out. If time gets short, we can take the quick route out Mesquite Canyon.

Communications: CB channel 37

Weather: Temperatures have quite a range here. I recommend bringing a warm clothing in case it becomes a long night. Bring sunscreen and lots of water.

Travel Convoys:

  • Santa Clarita - We will meet at McDonald's just off the 14 at Golden Valley Road at 7:30 and maybe a quick bite to eat. :link:
  • Culver City - Dinah's Diner at 6:30, departing at 6:45(ish). :link:

Post Trail Meal: We will be having dinner at Domingo's in Boron. It is a good place in between both routes home. :link:

If I can change out my idler & pitman arm and get new tires before this run I am in. I have the idler & pitman arms in hand with all the required tools to change them I just need new cotter pins. and I'm working on getting new tires.

Just got another Jeep signed on. Looks like we are going to have a fun crowd! I was sad to see Mike from Kern County not being able to go since this is practically in his backyard.

i might be down for this, ill talk to my dad this weekend, i went to Gorman with my friend David Vowell (If any of you know him. He used to be really popular in the hummer community.) Anyways, he taught me how to pick the right lines and when to use the lockers etc. I even did the rocky hill climb in the Gorman practice area. I want to get out and practice now!

Wait, you took the left side of the hill in the 4x4 practice area? . . . in your H3? That would be quite an impressive feat!

Lol Craig and I were thinking the same thing. Your talking about the cement climb right?

Craig next Gorman run I will attempt the left side. I tried it in the mud and got 40% up. If its dry I may get further

The one that is concreted in and has rocks and step ups, not the one to far left with boulders the size of my hummer! lol david said hes done it before in an h3 but he said body damage and a broken part or two might occur so i stuck with the little stuff! i did do the big concrete pipes that are there, that was crazy, i didnt think the h3 could do that!
