Its been a rough morning, I was a stop waiting for a traffic light to turn, there were a few cars in front of me and then all of a sudden whammo. This lady runs into the back of me and pushed me into the car in front of me. Everyone was ok, but she basically when 45 mph to zero on my rear, the cops said she never hit the brakes. Thankfully she was ok. The cop didn't believe I was involved in the accident at first. My truck was drivable from the scene once I changed the flat tire, but both upper and lower control arms on the right rear are bent. Front and rear bumpers have damage, brush guard, and tire carrier, otherwise, no body damage at all. I'll post some cell phone pics and better pics when I get a chance.

Sucks dude.

I had 3 people rear end me, but at lower speeds, 2 was stop and go traffic and one was in a parking lot. No damage in all 3 cases..the other cars had significant damage.

It's amazing how people go "Oh you didn't get any damage, how about just we forget about insurance and I'll fix this on my own..."

I can easily see how that driver could mistake the back of your T as open road! NOT!

Sorry to see such a nice truck damaged but it looks repairable. If not you can start shopping for a good used mall crawler. Zach has a nice virgin H2 mall crawler. He only drives it to church on Sunday, honest!

I have come to the conclusion that the worst drivers drive minivans. Maybe it is because they have too many distractions in the back?

1. Glad everyone is OK.

2. Sorry about the corn hole'ing....hope it is all as superficial as it looks.

3. HOW IN THE **** CAN SOMEONE NOT SEE SOMETHING AS BIG AS YOUR H2 STOPPED IN FRONT OF THEM?

Wonder if she was dicking with her cell phone at the time?

Wow--that sucks; sounds like you're going to have sore neck for awhile, lets hope nothing comes out medically after this for you. I hope everything we can't see is ok with your truck and doesn't surface down the road.

I'm not a fan myself, but it looks like the added protection you had was that LSU swhag, not a scratch!

Glad I didn't end up selling you my winch bumper--you'd have scratched it instead of your factory bumper.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys. I'm just glad she wasn't hurt. Most of my damage is minor and replaceable with after market parts if oem parts are not readily acailable. I gave the truck a good look over this afternoon, and other than the bumpers, brush guard, right rear upper and lower control arms, 8 inch gash in my tire and the tire carrier. She is all good from what I can tell so far.

Glad everyone is all right. Most of the damage looks superficial from what I can tell from the pics. And the 2 held up pretty damn good from looking at the mini van. All the OEM parts should be available without an issue. When I got rear ended over a year ago, it totaled the Toyota Corolla that hit me. And just left a nice little blue paint mark on my rear tow hook.

Glad to hear everyone is OK!
Not that this will make you feel any better but the day I purchased my H2, on the way home from the Dealership, with only 45 miles on it, I was rear ended while stopped on a Circle/Round-a-Bout!! The lady said "sorry I didn't see you :emb:
I said: You didn't see me????? :hammer: :HOLY: :gaah:... How could you miss me .. This freakin car is lit up like a UFO!! ufo.gif
Luckily she only hit the black rear bumper and no paint work was required.
She also tried to pawn her single daughter off on me as well as offering me a few free hair cuts at her Salon
Anyway good luck with everything it doesn't look to bad

I've been eyeing a company on Flea Bay that sells serious replacement front and rear bumpers for about $1000 each depending on what option you want. Can't remember if it's this forum, but one of the H2 guys is rebuilding his deuce and bought one of their kit bumpers on it that he modified for his needs.

As for replacement OEM parts, both Zach and I can hook you up with EVERYTHING you need OEM!! I'll start digging thru my stash of hood and hatch handles, tow hooks, hood louvers, OEM rear bumper and what ever else I come across. Oh, you don't mind a little bit of chrome, do you?

Say it ain't so, no chrome. Just go ahead and total it if I have to resort to chrome parts. Lol.

Mud was using a weld it yourself kit from rhino or something like that for his front and rear bumpers.

Here are a couple more pics close up.

That is why insurance companies love us when it is not our fault and hate us when it is. We all have similar stories.

Glad you are okay, any your rig only has minor damage.. Well, no time like the present to do a nicely modified rear bumper. She was probably texting.. I hate seeing people driving and texting...:bb9:

Good thing you are ok, and that everyone else is. Sucks about the damage but ultimately it can, and will, be repaired. Hang in there.

When I got rear-ended my wife was pissed at me because I laughed at the woman. Her Dodge Magnum plastic front end was all caved in and I had no damage.

My wife told me I was insensitive. I said "too bad the dumb driver could se the YELLOW HUMMER in front of her."

Sorry to hear that you got hit; it is a PITA no matter what. Glad you are OK.
