Yeah that one turned out pretty sweet, not quite what I had in mind as a roofrack is in R&D for production

When I do the exo it will be pretty minimalist. It's easy to get carried away with "I'll put a tube from here to here, and now here to here, and then here to there!" And before you know it you just have a jungle gym.. granted, the more tubes = generally more protection, but I'm going to heir on the side of "enough" rather than "more than enough" with the cage.

I got some .dxf files made up for floor plates and sent to the cnc plasma cutter. Should start bending tube this next weekend.

Finally getting around to the projector lens retrofit. All chrome pictured will not be chrome in the final installment.

Nice! I'm in the process of finishing up my retrofit. Which projectors did you go with? And how well did they fit on the back side?

Looks good.
They are just eBay Chinese specials. I had to cut a 4" hole in the back of my stock housing and epoxy a thick piece of plastic for a mounting surface.

To tint it black and do the clearcoats:

I grabbed 4 rattle cans of acrylic satin clear coat. Turned the cans upside down and depleted all the gas propellant out of the can so there was only paint left in. Used a church key can opener to poke a hole in the sides and drained them into a cup.

For the black paint I just took a rattle can of acrylic enamel black and sprayed it directly into a plastic cup until I had about an ounce or two. Then I added 4 spoonfuls of black to the clearcoat paint and stirred it and let it de-gas overnight. Then spray as normal. Cheap and easy tinting.
