Got another set of KM2s installed. One wheel had to be replaced because it was bent. Took almost three months for 4 Wheel Parts to get them in stock!

One wheel was bent pretty good (I have no idea how that happened ) so I had to grab one of my extras that was provided by Zach Express a few years ago and brought it over to the shop. While I was waiting, I saw a Daystar winch isolator. Serge had been running these on his rigs and I always thought they looked cool so I bought one for mine.

I migrated to a new parts box to carry my stuff. I found my old box at a yard sale about five years ago,

It has served me well but I found it a pain to load in the truck since it doesn't have good lifting handles. I also didn't like how heavy the top tray got once it was loaded.

I found this new box at Sears that was a perfect fit.

All my stuff fit in it well. An added bonus is how the top slides open, allowing access to the lower part without having to lift a heavy tray.

It is also much easier to move around the garage with the built-in wheels.

Can't see your pics, inspecting the page source code it looks like you're hosting them on Google? If so you probably don't have them set to be visible by the world or something along those lines.

Thanks. I am linking from Google Photos instead of Google Plus and I have to remember to grab a different link, not the one that is through my authenticated page. I made that mistake in another thread. If you do a force refresh, you should see the images now.

Google is messing with me. The pics are gone again. Working on the issue.

I haven't been thrilled with how Google lets you share images, I've just been taking the long road and letting them upload to Google from my phone, then downloading them and running them through Windows picture manager, compressing them to document size, then uploading them to my Imgur account and using that to share photos.

I have been converting over to Google to take the load off my own server and to utilize the auto-resize feature Google has. Unfortunately, it looks like the URL auto-gen feature in Google Photos creates URLs with an expiration. I may have to generate share links for all the photos and use those. Funny thing is, all the pics I have posted before the seperation of Goole Photos from Google+ are working fine. I have also used the occasional Picasa links for the pics.

I am at LISA 2015 right now. Maybe I can find a Google employee to talk to about this issue.

All I've seen is OpenWest, and this last year's conference pretty much exclusively focused on software programming, the year before they had a pretty good mix of topics that interested me as a sysadmin. This year's wasn't worth going unless you wanted to learn how to program Java or PHP, more or less. I also work at too small of a company to expect a trip to any of the big conferences to be paid for (there are only three admins).

I bought a ladder from rascole this weekend. I have wanted one for a while and finally got one for a great price.

I had quite an adventure with my differentials. I had been driving around with the front driveshaft removed to get me through moving to a new home and just finding time to get the truck in the shop. Once It hit 100K miles, I get it sent down to Anthony at AAMCO in Santa Ana. Turned out the front ring gear was looking like a hockey player and missing some teeth.

I elected to have the front diff rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. Also had a couple new Cardone halfshafts since the passenger side was binding and popping on tight turns. Had the oil changed in the trans, transfer case and rear diff as well. All was good until I got home and noticed oil on the floor. Looks like the rear pinion seal needed attention.

I took the truck back to Anthony for diagnosis. The rear wanted some love too. I decided to go ahead and have that one rebuilt as well since it was showing signs of wear.

The good news was . . . the locker looked great! I guess the education I got from our experts here on H4O paid off!

I have the truck back and it drives much better. Now to wait for my new UCP from KMW.

Lot to update. I found some tape media boxes at work that ended up being perfect for my tools. I now have all the tools in one handy box.

Had both front a rear diffs fully rebuilt (front twice).

Once I got it back after several trips to Ant, I started a few fixes that have been in the works for a while:

Oil catch can

Fix broken parking brake handle. Got a good deal on cashmere handle for a couple bucks.

Went to replace rear wiper and realized I never use it so I removed it altogether.

And finally gave Bessie a thorough cleaning after three and a half years of neglect.

Spent most of the day getting the train horn back in operation. Found a nice one gallon tank to put in the rear by the compressor.

The two-tone got upgraded to a three-tone. Sounds more like a train now.

I got it from Assured Automotive. :link:

It is rated at 140db and seems louder than the old air horn I had.

I put a relay in line with the real horn. This way I still have something if I run out of air. The compressor is on a switch though.

Got the KMW UCP installed. Man, this product is just AWESOME!

Here is what I removed:

I laid the parts out first so I could comprehend how it went together.

With the assistance of a floor jack, I was able to bolt it in by myself. Looks pretty awesome!

I would not want to remove this on the trail. I am also glad that Alex talked me out of the 1/4" steel. This is plenty heavy already. Good thing is that it will lower my center of gravity a bit!
