I've been using them for years. Even my 69 El Camino side windows are made by them. It was the only way to get rid of the old split side windows and make them one piece. They have a special surface treatment that makes them "unscratchable".

Another idea is to use the SpeedGlass in your doors instead of the metal inserts. It allows you to see through them without having debris fly in. All you do is send them the cut panels you already have, and they will send back an exact copy in SpeedGlass. :D

This sounds like a neat idea!

Although many of the trips we do in So Cal end up being an exercise in eating dust. I tend to wheel with my windows up and the AC on closed cycle. Call me a wimp, but I can't handle eating/breathing dust. Also, we have to travel many freeway miles to get to the trailhead/dig sites. Maybe if I lived closer to the trails I'd use these, but ...

Bebe; You did an excellent job on these tube doors. I didn’t mean to burst your bubble, I just don’t see me using them. I like the pictures with the rock rings only on the rear. I guess most of the time just the rear is enough. The trips where I scratched up my old wheels the damage was always in the back.

I love the speed glass idea so im protected but can still see. I wheel with my windows down 99% of the time with the dust being an issue or not. Lol

My plan is speed glass as skins and if I can use rivets for a removable plastic see through window for the top half...id rarely use em but I would keep em in the trunk in case of bad weather. I also need to think about how I'm gonna listen to music. I don't play any on the trail but I do going to the trail

Wow dude, you answer in an 10 year old post 🤔
We don't do that here. Also, they were asking a question for their own project and were looking for insight/help from Bebe/Speedy who did this first. Nothing wrong with that at all.

bijansd, you could also ask Chris (06 H3), he also built some half doors for his monster Squeaky and can probably help you out too. Check out his build thread.
