Bad A$$ Offroader...

It was very maneuverable, actually. In first gear, they had pivot steer. It could spin like a 20 ton top. It was powered by a Detroit Diesel turbocharged V6. It sounded like a typical diesel at idle until it got on the turbo and then it wailed in a high pitch scream. That's how we drove them, too. Fun times for a nineteen year old...

Here's me and the vehicle I served with. Leopard ARV, lowering the blade and getting ready for extraction of someone who got a little overconfident.:)

In reality though, tracks don't do well on rock at all. In fact they can be downright scary on rock. At least that is my experience with dozers on steep rock.

I'm not familiar with the Leopard ARV. It looks kind of like a version of a VTR. Still looks like another bad a$$ machine.

Yeah, it's the same really. ARV=Armored Recovery Vehicle. 43 tonnes combat ready, 37.4 twin supercharged V10, and a winch that can tackle a single line pull of 35 tonnes, and twice of that again with a snatch block. Over one year, we pulled out well over 1000 tonnes of stuck tanks with it.:)
