What’s the big deal?

I think the springs are the same. Pretty sure GM used to list different shocks for the Adventure pkg (correct me if I'm wrong, someone). They're mono-tubes I believe made by Bilstein. The adventure package gives you the 4:1 gear ratio trans fer case for 4lo, which sounds good, but IMO is only of real use for extreme trail situations & rock crawling, not as much for DD needs. It's "jerky" too shifting between gears. More skid plating on the earlier ones. Larger 33" tires. The 09s and 10s (I believe) also came with a front locker (verify that). The non-adv uses a 2.6:1 ratio, which ....no rear locker on the base. The traction control was designed to act as a faux front locker... btw, put traction to the slipping wheel. I haven't been in situations where I've seen the traction control do that, so I can't say how effective it is. Maybe someone else can.

locker only works in Low Range...which sucks for people who live in deep-snow areas...and probably mud too, and would like to use it in high. The new Bronco they got right and it works even in high range.

Lot of owners would add shocks & tires to the base H3 and it gets you real close & the standard ratio transfer case.

Actually, there's really no big deal. I'd much rather have the Lux pkg that was in good conditions, than the Adv (if I had to choose). The Monsoon stereo is 5x better than the base. Or just get a base and add in yer own newer stereo, locker & 33" tires. And put some Bilsteins on it. Then you don't have to work around the 4:1 xfer case and locker nanny's and interlocking electrical hassles that people don't tell ya about up front.

The sunroof's are a point of leaks for a lot of guys. If you found one w/o one that might not be a bad thing.

It has the monsoon stereo. No sunroof. 5spd manual. My 08 base has been fantastic.
