Front Eaton Elocker (GM P/N 25800300)

Does anyone have a wrecked front Eaton Elocker laying around in their garage?

The ramp on mine somehow busted so I am hoping to rebuild rather then replace the whole unit... but this is my last shot at that option.

(I just got off the phone with Eaton and they do not make a "Locking Mechanism Rebuild Kit" - kit I need - because this is not "after market" its OEM)

I am struggling with the decision to rebuild the front diff given that I don't know how long it will last until the next rebuild

Here is a pic of the broken ramp:

Check out this link. I don't know if it helps you identify a part number for it. View that full size and it has some decent detail. I was looking at this view, not quite certain which part is the one you cracked.

Edit: That's not for G93 Locking Front Diff. Don't know if the part is also in this axle so I left the link.

Other info I had saved:

Eaton = 19835-010
AAM = 40045120

Thanks for the info

Unfortunately the diagram in the link is for diffs without the elocker :(

I have gone mad looking for the part!

It is possible I just tracked down the part I am looking for!!! It's only $284 for 50-60% cheaper then replacing the whole unit!

I don't want to put false info out there so I will wait to confirm it's what I hope it is before posting the part number!!! ( I have a local dealership sending me a diagram of the unit)

Alright so I took a look at the diagram and I am certain I now have the correct part number to replace the part that is shown as broken in the photo above.

It is part number: 25958434

It comes as a kit with the following parts in the attached image: 36, 45, 47, 54, 55, 56

It just so happens that Alpha X sent me a PM around the same time as I was reviewing the diagram from the dealer and his PM confirms to me that this is the correct part.

Now I ask for some opinions.

This kit can be had for $280-290 online or I can replace the whole unit for $490-500

What do ya'll think is the better deal? If I buy a new unit I don't have to worry about breaking anything extra on disassembly or reassembly... I will also get more new parts with the whole unit (in theory less likely to fail/wear out)

I would love your thoughts on this before I place an order

If you're thinking of doing a SAS anytime soon, I'd go the cheaper rout to get by. Otherwise, I'd get the new one for the reasons you mentioned.

I can't tell by the graphic, but does that kit include the pins that go into the ramp? From your pics, yours are starting to round off and need to be replaced in the rebuild. I don't see any reason to get a new locker if you can replace these wear and tear parts.

Have you taken one apart by any chance? I just don't know what is involved with replacing parts at this point (like torque specs etc.)

PM Reloader. He's done many and rebuilt my rear locker a few months ago.

Summit sells the various kits for the rear Eaton. I think GM has a lock on the front unit. Looks like the ring gear teeth have some scars...clean those up with a file.

I recall rebuilding it at one point. How many times have you blown it up? :HA:
You installed mine but didn't rebuild it; you rebuilt Jerry's. By the way, great to hear from you!

Hi MaxPF, I have a 2009 H3T 5.3L with the front elocker. My local shop sent me home with a dry differential and it blew up. We have tried to reassemble and also tried a salvage diff but no luck. I have two 90% operational diffs (one installed and one in bed) but they both grind at take off. Do you have a rebuilt or salvage elocker front diff I can buy?

Hey, this is a really old thread, im not sure if Maxpf is even around anymore. That being said, the front locker parts are hard to come by. Your best bet is to find one at a junkyard and rebuild it. There are no e locker specific kits available that im aware of, eaton will deny it ever existed.
Arb might have an option to put an air locker in the front.

There is also this one, never heard of it but i just found it

I have a complete front e-locker I pulled out of my 2008 Alpha. It was removed to swap in an ARB locker to match the rear (since the spider gears blew up in the rear on Metal Masher). It was working fine when I pulled it. It's available for sale if anyone needs it. The rear locker is available as well, sans spider gears.
