How much ?!!

This one is pricey. It has all the goodies, and its all brand new. It breaks down like this:

Custom HP Dana housing....$650 (made from Ford case & DOM tubing)
Eaton E-locker.................$950 (latest 4-spider version)
Yukon 5.13s....................$230
Yukon chromoly shafts......$750 (with solid super joints)
Spicer HD yoke................$ 80
Timken diff bearings..........$120
Set-up & drill for pigtail.....$300
Flat-top GM knuckles........$200 (used - milled & drilled)
GM spindles & nuts...........$ 60 (used)
TRW HD Ball Joints............$200
Mile Marker SS lock-outs....$100
THORparts ABS hubs.........$400
Timken hub bearings/seals..$100
THORparts 3-link kit..........$350
Powder-coated DOM links...$600 (DOM tubing with Ballistic Fab joints)
Powder-coated Rock cover $130
Frame brackets................$110 (Ruff Stuff)

TOTAL..........................$5330

At this price, you are getting close to what an aftermarket (G2, Dynatrac, Currie, etc.) axle would cost. Missing from this are coil springs, shocks, front driveshaft and entire steering system. That stuff will add another $2200 or so. I would rank this particular axle toward the high-side of what a SAS will cost. I have (2) other SAS axles being built right behind this one, and both are significantly less. You can subtract $2300 or so by using a stock GM housing, stock shafts, and an open diff....so don't let my crazy build scare you off. It can be done far cheaper.

I'll be home tonight. Bring it on over. Perfect time...I still have my front diff out!
Nope...this one is all mine! But I do have a similar one that's under Warren right now.... Jus sayin!

Finding a deal makes it much cheaper. I have all new seals, 5.13s Detroit locker (wanna switch it out for selectable) chromoly shafts etc. Just like his minus the retube for high pinion pass drop I bought it for 1k the shafts alone are 750. I got a steal.

That axle is nice though!

All true. The Dana 44 is an incredibly universal and affordable unit. The prices I posted are new retail...but there is such a huge market for used parts....that nobody builds these all new. Literally...there are ten of these axles within 20 miles of everybody reading this.
