Government shut down...

Well, it did happened.
And since I'm a gov contractor I'm "forced to take a vacation". Can not really complain about it as long as it will not last more then few weeks. Now I'm sitting home and enjoying my time :)

Just watched a press conference where the "King" came out and gave a "speech" about it.... Well... it is such a LOAD OF CRAP... Ruined all my good mood.
He is such a full of s**t.
First thing he came out and started to blame everything one party of Rep. for "holding American people as hostages" because they don't like his ideology and don't want to let ObamaCare threw. Then there were bunch of lies followed by some bogus stories about how great his HC reform is. Then, followed by another big load of dump and some dumb contradictions of himself.... "I said, I will negotiate to everyone to make our lives better..." then "... I will NOT negotiate..." and "they need to stay out of my way to govern the situation"

From what I understand and heard from early news is that, House wanted to defund the ObamaCare on $2 billion and move it to some other program. And the biggest thing is that in the bill the new reform will not apply to politicians. They will be exempt from all penalties. Rep. wanted to get this out make it so the low will apply for everyone. Why should some one be exempt from the low???

In the speech "Obamus THE Greatus" said that House don't want to fund the HC bill and what it dropped...
All his speech was such a lie... But if you don't know sh*t(like most of his voter are) it sounded very beautiful.

BTW... something that I've heard, and I'm not sure if this number is correct, but the deductible on the insurance that you can get with help of ObamaCare starts at $5000. Good luck getting this "Affordable" health plan.

Ohh, another thing, if you don't have an insurance you have 6 month to get one, or face the penalties.

it seems to me that the liberals really want some kind of benevolent dictatorship that comes in an solves the world's problems instead of the government we have. Some of Obama's statements have led to me to believe that he believes that he is that dictator. scary.

Like Clinton said, " Americans will eventually get used to communism." As far as I am concerned the longer the government is shut down the less damage they can do. As usual I am sure all of the government workers will get paid for the downtime that they didn't work. I am sure that in the end the unions, Senate, House and their staff, WhiteHouse staffers except will get their exemptions from ObummerCare. We the People have lost control of our government. We now have a governing/beauracratic class that needs to reminded who the ultimate boss is. I for one am finally happy to see Boehner, et all quit surrendering and growing a pair of balls. I just hope Harry Reid let's Boehner keep them for awhile.

Yea, we closed office this AM. Parks are closed. Hope to enjoy a few days off. Be surprised if it last more than three days, if it does, I expect it could keep everything shut done until after the debt limit fight mid October.

[h=1]Lawmakers still get a check, even in shutdown mode[/h]
WASHINGTON (AP) — There's at least one constant in a government shutdown: The 532 members of Congress continue to be paid — at a cost of $10,583.85 per hour to taxpayers.
Lawmakers get their pay even as hundreds of congressional staffers are sent home, packs of tourists are turned away at the Capitol, and constituent services in many offices grind to a halt.
Most entrances to House and Senate office buildings and underground parking garages are closed.

House members and senators can't withhold their own pay even if they want to. Under the Constitution's 27th Amendment, lawmakers can only change the pay of those in a future Congress,
not the one in which they serve. Senators and House members are paid $174,000 a year; a handful of leaders make up to $20,000 more.

Lawmakers aren't oblivious to how it looks. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and others are pledging to donate their salaries to charity during the shutdown.
While lawmakers' paychecks will continue, the same isn't true for their aides and some support staff at the Capitol. Like some 800,000 other federal employees judged to be nonessential and
therefore furloughed, thousands of workers on Capitol Hill were sent home Tuesday. Those who weren't will still see their paychecks delayed.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., told all but four of the 30 staffers in his Washington office they were not needed during the shutdown. People quit answering his office phones at noon, replaced
by a recorded message normally used for greeting after-hours callers. "They'll get to hear my message," Chambliss quipped.

Assistant Senate Democratic leader Dick Durbin sent about 80 percent of his Washington staff home and closed all four of his offices in Illinois. Other lawmakers determined a bigger share of
their aides was too important to be furloughed.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., said he'd told just four staffers — all part-timers — to go home. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., sent about a third of his staff home, though his office did not
say how many aides that meant overall. The offices of House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid didn't immediately respond to queries about how many staffers were
furloughed and how many were still at work.

The Capitol was eerily quiet for a weekday when Congress is in session. Doors to the House and Senate barber shops were locked as were most of the restaurants and snack facilities in the Capitol
and neighboring congressional office buildings. All the gift shops were closed.

The only tourists in the Rotunda, the old House and Senate chambers and other locations for gawking were tiny groups escorted by lawmakers themselves. The red-jacket escorts who normally
direct thousands of tourists through the Capitol every day were judged to be nonessential, as were most of the security aides who check them through metal detectors.

As long as the House and Senate remain in session, the visitors galleries for watching lawmakers in action are open, too. Unlike when the government isn't shut down, there weren't any lines of people waiting to get in Tuesday.

How convenient.

Doug, the word disgust is less than adequate to describe how I feel about these ass hats.

Foppish, purple, wide brimmed ass hats to be more precise.

I am sure I am already on watch list and would be highly disappointed if I was not. If not then i am not doing my job as a patriot. our country is in way more trouble then even us theorist believe. The thing that kills me is that people will NOT open their eyes to the obvious. History repeats itself and that is a fact.

We are already into dictatorship, have you guys not read that Obull**** is talking about a unprecedented 3rd term? Crazy part is that he would get full support from the sheep. :holysheep I will be the first guy to listen to both/all sides of any political debate but when I try to have a conversation with an Obama supporter there is no response that has ANY credence at all. so FCN sad right now in this country.

Are we that far away from being a police state??? There are already over 400 Homeland security/FEMA "internment camps" set up around the country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfkZ1yri26s&feature=share There are 386,000 foreign troops (mostly Russian) here on US soil "training" to assist our police and troops to help us...WTF, They are being tought ENGISH & US weapons and strategies... WTF. I am going to call BULL**** - RED FLAG!!! What the heck am i missing here??? http://freepatriot.org/2013/09/18/w...-s-soil-obama-issuing-martial-law-in-october/ This link is crazy if it was true...I am trying to keep an open mind but it is getting harder. time will tell.

I personally think the Government shutdown is either a diversion or a trial run for bigger badder things to come. We have foxes watching the hen house. Over 530 elected congressmen and woman and i would be surprised is 20 of them were worth a F**K... Somehow we lost control and I believe as long as we have career politicians, it will only get worse.

How about high ups in Egypt are spilling proof that Obama is a Muslim, his brother is tied to Muslim extremest, they are exposing all this because they are afraid of what would happen worldwide if the US power is not under the control of Freedom. They say they are getting information out there because the currant administration has been able to HIDE it but they can't stop them there from doing it. Even Egypt thinks we need to OPEN or Eyes. This link is 18 mins long but surely a scary 18mins http://www.redflagnews.com/headline...obama-is-a-muslim-terrorist-video-news-report

I did see an incredible comparison recently when someone said Obama is like Hitler. So of course i researched it because i do not think that statement to be true. BUT here is the crazy part. If you compare the two men as Obama today and Hitler at the end of his reign - they are not a comparison...Now lets go back and compare Obama now and Hitler at the beginning of his power, comparable to Obama's timeline...WOW...the similarities are SCARY to say the least.

Interesting fact - 43 COMBINED presidents acquired 6.3 trillion of US Dept - Obama made 6.4 trillion in one term!!!

Thanks for listening to my RANT, I have not had one in a while...LOL GOD BLESS AMERICA :sl2: and i hope you guys missing work don't get hurt too bad.

If you sent money to the Tea Party you are on a list. If you are a member of the NRA you are on a list. If you served in the military you are on a list. If you are a member of any group or organization that leans conservative you are on a list. The one thing most people involved in any of the above have in common is that we love this country and didn't think it needed to be "changed" in 2008. That put us on "the list". We are dangerous because we thought/think that the greatest country on this planet did not need to lurch to the left, lean toward socialism or make any other detours from American greatness. No telling how long it will take put this country back on track after the Obama buffoonary has run it's course. I keep telling myself just a few more years and he will be gone, just a few more years.........

I still have clear memories of the 95 shutdown since I was working at NASA during that time. Fortunately, I made it through that period unscathed. I don't remember the abrupt shutdown of public services though (like government web pages).

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of the patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson

Two quotes I live by everyday, just waiting for the day that we all stand up together and make the changes our self.

I fear that the tipping point with our government is getting closer than anyone ever thought it would. They are so far over the line and instead of checks and balances we have one semi-cohesive movement to "change" the greatest country this planet has ever seen into?????( have to be something not as great ) We have a Congress that has relinquished it's role and power to the executive branch and the court system. We have judges appointed to office based on political philosophy rather than legal integrity and therefore we have polticized court rulings rather than ruling based on the Constitution, legal laws, etc. Why the House and Senate would grant their power to the other branches is beyond me. They have relegated themselves to the trash heap. They are insignificant in any real sense now.

My wife and I had a nice conversation with her Canadian (Calgary) parents yesterday. My understanding from them is that when the Canadian gov't starts pulling this kind of crap the public can call for a vote to be taken within 21 days and the responsible clowns trying to go their own way no longer have a job. This ensures that their gov't is working for the people and looking for their best interests.
Seems really simple, and they've had to do this in fairly recent memory. This could serve as a simple model for us to follow. We just need to get past the corruption of our politicians never letting this happen.
Please don't start trying to compare the Canadian health care system to the travesty that Obummer is trying to achieve. There is no comparison, and no, it's not a socialist system they are running, it just works without bankrupting their people.
Bottom line is, crossing the border is starting to look really tempting every day these idiots are running the store. I'm just trying to convince myself that minus 40 is really not that cold compared to the balmy plus 40 winters we have here in Florida......

You would be surprised to learn that places in Canada don't actually get that cold, in fact with where I live in Illinois some places even warmer.

I too have become interested in moving to Canada. Sometimes I feel like I no longer belong to this country, that they don't capture my ideals, and it may be time to move on to some other country that I fit in better with.
