    Rascoles Scorpworks Bushing Front Diff Crossmember Installation

    Here is my installation of the Scorpworks Bushing Front Diff Crossmember.
    I have one word to describe this crossmember. Awesome. This was way easier then I had expected. I would recommend a small bottle jack and a rubber mallet. For what ever dumb reason, my wrench set did not come with a 18mm, it skips it, go figure. So make sure you have one before you start.

    My first problem, and only problem, was the passenger side outside bolt hits the A arm and would not slide out. I used my bottle jack to raise the A arm and the bolt slide right out.

    Re-installation was a snap, used the bottle jack to help push it into place and the rubber mallet to tap it in.

    After all was done, I drove it around the block a few times and the noise was gone. Nice and smooth.

    Thanks for the pics and recap! Glad you used the new Grade 8 mounting bolt. The existing one, when reused, has backed out on some owners (bolt was torqued out, one and done?) which resulted in the bolt breaking, the diff flopping around an inconvenient situation (tow truck ride). The four side bolts get reused as they don't see quite the same stress. I think I reversed the direction of my side bolts because of that clearance situation, or because I forgot which way they had started.

    The bolt went back in with no lifting of the a arm needed. If I worked it a little more it probably would have come out with using the jack but since I already had it there I decided to not take a chance and ruin the threads.

    UPDATE: So a couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Dwaine at Preferred Chassis Fabrication to let me know that my replacement crossmember was ready. I placed my order immediately and received it a few days later. This past weekend I installed it (using the instructions provided on this thread) and everything went smoothly. New bushing looks rock solid (much better than the factory version), I'm hoping this is the last one I'll ever have to buy! Definitely worth the wait and highly recommended!

    Links don't work only because of a switch to https: from http:.

    To my knowledge, these crossmembers are not currently available due to a lack of cores. Customers chose to not return their cores to PCF which has prevented new customers from being able to upgrade their H3s.
