Just bumping as I have had these lights on my rig for 4 years now... Holy **** do they light everything up. You will end up having to aim them down significantly more than your stock lights, and you will get flashed alot...which is kinda annoying at times. I have 4 Piaas on my gobi rack, there is barely a difference in road lighting. The difference you see is really only from the outer floods lighting up off to the side. There is no light bleed above the horizon line of these lights like you get w/ the cheap HIDs in the stock housing. I have some pics somewhere (Ill try to find them) comparing the stock and these side by side.

If anyone has battery drain issue after installing these lights, the harness was not wired correctly. The lights will operate as they are supposed to, but power is never cut to the relays. You simply need to swap two wires in the harness. I believe this is documented on the Starr website.

Not sure about this kit. I know Trucklites just released their new version of the 7" round LED headlamp that is supposedly giving out quite a good bit of illumination. I can name a few advantages of the Trucklite without having both products in hand.

    1. Trucklite option is still cheaper without group buy
    2. You won't have to mount a ballast as I believe the ballasts are built into the headlamp (someone can confirm if I'm wrong or not)

The only disadvantage I can think of is that the LED headlamp probably will not get warm enough to melt snow/ice buildup on the headlamp. That's something for you northerners to think of, though. Not a problem here in GA

Do you have a link for that Truck-Light? Their website is not the most easily navigated... I'd be curious to see the differences between this and Starr.

The Truck-Lite is $500/set + shipping and produces 1800 lumens. The Starr is (potentially) $660 shipped and produces 3000 lumens. (At least from what I could find.) I'm not a lighting genius, but it seems like better bang for the buck with the Starr group buy.

Does Truck-Lite have a lighting solution for the H3?

Last time I checked/e-mailed them, they did not.

Hence my hightened interest in the Starr product.

I'm not a lighting person either. IIRC, light output is not only based on lumens, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
