    GM 8.5 LubeLocker gasket

Who all has used the LubeLocker gasket on the rear axle? I hear good things about them and was looking to replace my current gasket with one (getting some weeping) but when I looked them up the pictures show there is no sealing material all the way around the bolt holes, and worse yet the sealing material goes to the outside of the holes so you presumably have to use RTV on the bolt heads to full seal it?

I have one on my dana 44 front, the gasket goes all the way around the bolt holes on mine.

I looked the 10 bolt one up on amazon and the gasket goes around the bolt holes, or are you talking about the orange/red bit/lines going all the way around?

The orange sealant bit. The gasket base goes all the way around, but the orange bit which I am assuming is the actual sealing compound does not go around the bolt holes for some reason.

I may just get a new OEM gasket since they seem to be made pretty well, I reused the old one when I put the ARB cover on instead of using the paper gasket they provided. I should also check the bolt torque to make sure they aren't loosening.

Both OEM and LubeLocker are reusable and both get installed dry. Torque to 8-10 ftlbs.

Pretty sure I torqued mine correctly when I installed the ARB cover, but I'll double check them. Might be time to upgrade my 1/4" torque wrench as well. I used it torque some hoseclamps to 65 in/lbs and it felt like it might have passed that.

I've got the lubeloker on the back of my Jeep Cherokee XJ.. and it works great. I've removed the cover, cleaned it off replaced cover and add new differential fluid and Bob's your uncle.
