In case you haven't heard yet, I have sold My H3. It had been a great 13+ years of ownership. I got to see a lot of places and meet many great people.
Her life was coming to an end with me. I no longer had a place to do the work that she needed, mainly an engine rebuild. I looked high and low for a donor vehicle that had a V-8 with a manual transmission and four wheel drive. I also looked for a 3.7 used and a 3.5 rebuild. All options were more money than I wanted to spend. I also need something a little more suitable for a city commuter since I want to get back down to a two-car household. During the process of trying to sell it, the computer threw a P0420 code, bad catalytic converter. I tried swapping O2 sensors first but no luck. The upper cat was already replaced roughly 15K miles prior so I know it was the lower cat. I really didn't feel like throwing more money at it just to sell it legally (in California) so I chose to take it to CarMax. Before I drive it down there, I stripped off a bunch of things like the UCP, onboard air, aftermarket radio and short-stroke shifter. Sorry, the THOR Parts bumpers went with it. I also left my Dash Plaque under the hood. I am hoping that the next owner will reach out to me or at least the forum.
This is not the end of my off roading though! I have a new project waiting for my tax return. I am going to order a Subaru Crosstrek. Yeah, I know this isn't a "real" 4x4, but I found one in SoCal that I want to duplicate! Not as capable as the H3 but should be able to take Wheeler Ridge in Bishop.
I will be posting a build thread here once I get the car.
