    H3T Child's Car Seat

Does anyone have any positive experiences with car seats in an H3T?

I have a Clek Foonf car seat. Fits great in every vehicle I've ever tried it in except for the H3T. It is simply painful to get it in the H3T and doesn't fit correctly no matter what I do. This car seat fits great in an H3 SUV.

For those that aren't familiar, the LATCH tether connections on the H3T are behind the seat. You have to fold the seat down, attach the tether, latch the seat, and then somehow tension the whole thing while wrestling with the car seat.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a car seat that fits well in the H3T?

One of the main reasons I sold the truck is the rear is too cramped for a child seat. I tried a few seats they worked ok for when the kiddo was small but there is that gap where the kid is too small to use a booster and too big to be comfortable in a car seat. I also had to remove the headrest to make any of them work at all. Unless you absolutely need the bed I find the H3 better suited for most things.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I really love the H3T but I might end up in a Silverado/Sierra. My other car is a stick and the wife canít drive it. I need something she can drive thatís good in the snow and comfortable for the little one. Oh how life can make priorities change.

Don't hesitate to give the Ram trucks a try too. Couple yrs ago I shopped all around. Wanted to stick to GM, but Ram just had a better product/ride/price, IMO. (YMMV). I don't regret buying it. That was just before the new models came out, but I've looked at the new models and everything I see Ram seems to be hitting it out of the park. Just thought I'd toss that out there...

Just sent you a private message!

Don't know anything about Hummers, but I do speak Malamute.

No joke there. I wound up with an awd turbo Flex. Super comfortable, quick, good in the snow, tons of room, even a mini fridge in the second row console. I keep the 3 because it was cheap and I will probably chop it up for an offroad toy after the house remodel.

UPDATE!: I got a car seat installed!

I removed the plastic panel behind the rear seat to increase clearance and purchased a car seat with a smaller latch hook. Just enough room to fit. It is still a pain to install/remove the car seat but thankfully that doesn't happen often.

Just as an aside, if your rig or car has leather seats, be careful that the bottom of the car seat or booster, doesn't damage or permanently imprint into the leather seating material. Its really unsightly and doesn't really ever come out. I had that happen in two vehicles back in the day. A piece of 1/2" foam rubber (like carpet padding or something 'grippy') under the child seat/booster can help prevent that.
