Question for U guys... 2500lb winch clutch slipping when under load

So, I have a 2.5klb winch that is used on small plow and the winch drum has started to slip a few inches of cable when it gets the plow into the air. The clutch/brake acts as if it can't get enough traction at certain points and therefore slips. It's a cheapo 2.5klb HF but the plow is like 200lbs. Lol!
It has worked wonders for a few seasons but alas it is slipping.
Anyone have thoughts about a possible repair??
