Shifter leather cover install hep

I am replacing my worn out leather cover/boot and adding some power outlets to the center console. My helper decided to remove the leather from the plastic rings and because I didn't see it first I don't know how it goes back together. Any pics or vids?

After several frustrating days of trying to put the new boot on I gave up. I brought it to an upholstery shop and they cannot get it on either. They are going to make a new boot from their own thinner material. My advice is to live with the flakey boot.
