Amp RMS question?

Okay, so here's the deal.

My amp sub channel runs at

200 watts RMS x at 4 ohms
and
600 watts RMS x at 2 ohms

So my sub is a Dual voice coil 4 omh with 300 watts and 50-150 RMS.

I would assume at 4 ohms it would only get 50 RMS and it I bridge it to make it 2 ohms, I'll get the full 150 RMS.

Now the million dollar question, am I going to kill the sub seeing how the amp can push 600 RMS at 2 ohms?

I've been reading that it's better to have an under power setup on and amp rather than maxing it out and having it run a full peek all times. But will 600 RMS is a **** load to something maxing at 150 RMS.

Any ideas?

You would want to run it at 4 ohm with the gain way down. By your amp description it is way overpowered for that sub bridged and no need to since the the 4ohm channel already provides more than the sub can handle, link to the amp? Speakers generally work best in their upper 70% capacity.
