    Hunner's USA Adventures

I started my Hummer experience in 2006. After bolting on some equipment that added weight and even with some engine mods I decided to jump on an 08 Alpha when they were rumored to be discontinued. I do some towing and travel in mountainous areas frequently.
I have done a list of mods and have had some custom fabrication made.
I am more of an Expedition Adventurer than any other type of wheeling. Hopefully this will inspire others to get out there in the great USA backcountry. Hope to see ya soon!
A work in progress, so many trails so little time.

I had some stuff to do around the place tomorrow but if I can convince the wife we take the 98 and H3 and go wheeling for awhile tomorrow. All your fault Hunner with all these pictures.

But I'm just getting started listing the places to go in a Hummer. The views are changing constantly. AC and XM onboard ain't bad either! It must be working to get the couch potatoes stirred up! I know I am ready to go. Fall weather hit Arkansas today. Probably won't last.
Out from Moab of the La Sal Mtns. I think the back way to Arches. Neo wood know

Arches for sure with the La Sals, look I see Neo up there cuttin up!

Capitol Reef National Park the scale of things out here dwarfs an H3

    Maybe even three of them

ok I actually have some without a Hummer in them.

More trails around Death Valley you don't want to be in here if it rains upstream! The GPS mapping kept having gaps, no horizon. If you set up a computer like this be sure to pull fuse 27 the passenger will appreciate it

    Back down below sea level

I made friends in low places

A little side trip to Colorado and Bridal Veil Falls to cool off. Just happens to be at the end of Blackbear pass, it's all down hill from there!

    Dam Hunner!
When are you gonna start bringing me on your trips
Or at least give me your truck! Hahaha
You should go against Recon and Bebe again if we get ROTM again. That would be a completely insane ROTM. I am sure youd hold everyone out till the end!

Starting early and early retirement has allowed me to enjoy many years of freedom. Who knows, I could show up in your neck of the woods anytime!
I think those two are in a different league of their own, and rightfully so.
Mine is just an H3 with mods anyone can do to increase reliability with some time and effort and budget for it a little at a time. I have had some custom made items but I either share how to make them, sell them or can tell you how to install them and where to get them.
I concentrated on reliability and functional mods to save me wrenching time, on the trail. I don't want to be limited to where I can go by myself or with a very small group is why I did all that. Carrying all the spares and tools is no good unless you know first hand how to use them.
I showed all my cards on that ROTM and would not want to just cut & paste all that again. I want to inspire others to get under there and go for it. My Dad moved off the farm when he retired and called the neighbors that worked on their cars on weekends, "Driveway lizards" and it stuck and some of them did some remarkable things.
