You might read the fine print. Most of those online salvage houses don't use "direct" bidding like eBay. Instead you are bidding for the opportunity for a licensed bidder to bid on your behalf. So your $1000 will go to a guy to bid $3500 to get you the truck.

I'm sure there are legit places out there but salvage auctions are rarely what they seem. Remember...if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is.

Best of luck. I want to see how the swap goes. 150k on the clock of my '06 I5, I'm looking for options.

What year is your 3? swapping the motor on any year can be done. 06 being the toughest 08 up is easier...07 is depending on if it's an early 07 or late 07 on how easy it is but it won't be any worse then the 06
