Hey everyone I'm looking at swapping my Jeep Wrangler for a hummer h2 in white with the 6.0 motor. I'm just curious about some of the cool mods you guys have done to yours. I'm wanting to do a 6 inch fabtech lift with 18 inch cleaver rims in black and 38 inch mudgrapplers any advice would be greatly appreciated. I will upload a photo of the hummer that I'm wanting to make the one I hopefully get look like.

Yeah I see that they usually beef the front end up I don't plan on going off-roading much until I get the front end beefed up lol those are good ideas on the electrical system I wonder how much that would run?

Keep it looking tough don't go with the girly wheels you cry when they get scratched. Put some Spyderlock Beadlocks on there and some big 37" Pitbull Rockers with a good 4" lift. Make it awesome. REMOVE THE CHROME**

I am running 38s with no lift. As far as mods, I run front and rear lockers and 4.56 gears, Dynatech Headers, DIY on-board air system, modded the rock rails to bump them out 2", Kryptonite centerline and tie-rods, and many more I am forgetting about over the years.

That's a really nice rig you have there big2dabank! Do you get lots of rub with the 38s and how do you like the 4.56 gears better than the 4.10 's for 38's???

20" wheels would be a major NO from me but it's your rig-do whatever you want to it. Huge sidewalls serve a purpose when offroading, 20s are pretty much worthless once you leave the nice paved roads.

Very slight rub at full lock, which is no more rubbing than when I had 37s. The wheels are 18" x 9" and the 38s are 38x13.5s, which IMO are the perfect size on an H2. I do have a 2" coil spacer in the rear and torsion keys up front, so that also helps. As far as the gearing, I probably should have went to 4.88s, but the 4.56 do fine, way better than 4:10s, which was very sluggish.

A few people have floated the idea of doing a solid axle swap using the AAM 925 axle from 03+ dodge rams 2500 trucks. It's basically the solid axle version of the H2's front axle. The electronics are the same.

Thats a BS I am running 20x12s with 38/15.5 for years now ( sometimes with trailer on same wheels)never had any issues on or off road. They do look much better vs. SMALL 18s. And I do off-road more that 80% of people on this forum.

I think 4.56s are perfect for 37s and 4.88s are perfect for 38s. I am still running 4.56s with 38s and its a bit sluggish, but still plenty of power when I need it. I still tow occasionally an am not quite ready to go to 4.88s. If you plan on going to 40s I would go straight to 5.13s, possibly even 5.38s if you don't tow anything.

Here are a couple of quick gear ratio calculations for you.

For stock tires and gears;

(4.10 x 60mph x 336)/ 33.6 inches = 2460 rpm 3rd gear
2460 x 0.696 (overdrive) = 1712 rpm

For 37s and 4.56
(4.56 x 60 mph x 336)/ 37 inches = 2485 rpm 3rd gear
2485 x 0.696 (overdrive) = 1729 rpm

For 38s and 4.88s
(4.88 x 60 mph x 336)/ 38 inches = 2589 rpm 3rd gear
2589 X 0.696 (overdrive) = 1802 rpm

For 40s and 4.88s (I personally think this will feel bit sluggish because of the added weight of the 40s)
(4.88 x 60 mph x 336)/ 40 inches = 2460 rpm 3rd gear
2460 X 0.696 (overdrive) = 1712 rpm

For 40s with 5.13s
(5.13 x 60 mph x 336)/ 40 inches = 2586 rpm 3rd gear
2586 x 0.696 (overdrive) = 1800 rpm

For 40s with 5.38s
(5.38 x 60 mph x 336)/ 40 inches = 2711 rpm 3rd gear
2711 x 0.696 (overdrive) = 1887 rpm
