I grabbed a yellow top about 2 years ago as well for my 06’ H3 w/ I5. My winters get fairly cold here in the winter within New England however, I found charging the yellow top per their peak charging method was very noticeable upon initial start-up. I have no way to know if their charge method prior to use made a difference but I followed per the instructions. I have never seen a battery require special charge instructions prior to use and if it even makes a difference.

What peak charging instructions ? Mine came like any other battery I’ve ever bought, here’s your battery. I was given any instructions .

How nice is that with the 4.88 gears and 37s? I opted for a Diablosport tuner but haven’t messed with it much other than changing gear and tire size and it feels about how it did with 315s. I did briefly adjust shift settings but it felt a little too hard and I went back to factory shift settings. I need to do more homework before I mess with it too much. A big plus of going with the PCM of NC is they’ve already done all the homework for you and they have a good history. Coulda shoulda maybe...

Yea, one of the reasons I did the PCM of NC is because they've done all the leg work for h3 specific tunes, and I dont really have other plans for mods that will require additional tunes....yet lol

With everything adjusted, it feels more steerable than before, like you said, as if it was 35s on a stock H3.

It doesnt feel as bogged down as before, feels like everything is buttoned up correctly, that might be the 87 octane tune doin its thing though. I felt like I wasn't dragging trying to get up to speed.

It does 2k rpms at 65 mph, which is more or less what I was shooting for, I'm not sure if 5.13s would bump that sweet spot up some or not.

I’ve had a PCM tune for five years or so. I’m running a stock 3.7L, AT, 5.13s, and 37” tires. I’m very happy with the drivability and I cruise at 75mph with no issues. Also at lower speeds (55mph) it stays in 4th like it’s supposed to.

0-60 is startling. Crazy how fast a 5-cyl will accelerate with the right gears. Add the traction control and 4wd, and it feels like an Audi. No slip. 6000rpm. No tire chirps but, very firm precise shifts.

Of course low range is like a bulldozer.

I forgot. PCM has a spec sheet you fill out when you send in your chips. I went very mild...87 octane timing, and mid-grade trans shifts.

If I was really wanting to go fast, I would have spec’d 92 octane timing and phase III (neck-jerking) shifts.

While on the topic of PCM of NC, I can't say enough good things about them. When I first had the tune done on the Hummer, the only reason I did it was because I was told there were some fuel efficiency gains to be had. When you start calculating the price of the tune against the fuel savings, it was a no brainier. The tune has paid for itself many times over. Any performance gain is a bonus. Just had them do tune on my C5 and am 100% happy with that as well

Helped my son pull his Hummer out of the garage, installed his license plates, he gave it a quick detail, and parked next to dadda's truck for some pictures. I'm actually surprised it started right up without needing a charge.

Just got back on the road after two and a half weeks waiting for spark plugs. Amazon apparently does not consider them an essential item right now.

This is where I got it from https://www.bigtoysgreencountry.com...on-pickup-truck-w-rubber-tires-2-seats-black/

It's pretty damn cool with functional lights, horn, radio including Bluetooth and also remote control so you can drive it if your kids are to young which is what I use.

Turning radius suck though and does better on hard /rocky pavement (I've had to mow my grass low so it can be enjoyable in the backyard).

Just an fyi if you were looking to get one.

Summer down time. Too hot for camping so now it's time for upgrades, not cheap but needs to be done.
1. Modifying front and read Thor bumpers. Rear D ring brackets welded, front bull bar welded and adding front camera.
2. Replace broken windshield.
3. LineX faded and scratched paint.
4. Replace 5 year old Optima yellow tops and clean up wiring.
5. Repair ARB air compressor, bad relay.
6. Replace all pads, rotors and calipers, 2 pistons are leaking and they are 5 years old.
7. Repair fried coil on front locker.
8. Replace lower ball joints.

Temp is still hitting 204 with the AC on, I haven't noticed the fan kicking on.

///update///

Spun that fan by hand, it's good and tight, any ideas on what else to look at? Oh, the rad was replaced late last year, so I'm more than positive the fluid is good and there's no air in the system.
