After two years of searching for the Alpha I was looking for, finally found one 3 weeks ago and have been working non-stop to get my off road build done on it. I now own 2 H3's, wife took my 07 I bought new. When the weather warms up a bit here, I will do a build video, I've been trying to take more pics as I work to give everyone some ideas on unique stuff I've done. The slant back conversion on the 07 H3 will still happen but got pushed back a bit. Picture stock, winch mount I made this last weekend, and playing in some snow Sunday.

I cleaned off all the old stuff and rust, primed it, then coated it with RV roof sealant and painted over it.
Im assuming that I need to drop the headliner to see the pinch weld?

Finally fixed the below CEL codes by replacing the respective sensors.

    • P0365
    • P0442
    • P0017
    • Fixed damaged exhaust bolt

    * P0894 CEL continues to show up and my transmission is shifting hard.

Having the transmission rebuilt. Current transmission has 123,000 miles on it.

*Power steering pump being replaced also due to it leaking.

Nope, you take the roof rail mounting channels and the plastic trim off. The channel is held on with torx bolts, it all comes off pretty easily. The pinch weld is right below that and is covered with a urethane sealant. On my truck the sealant was breaking down and letting water underneath. It wasn't leaking into the cabin but it was causing the sheet metal to start rusting. I have heard of others though that it did end up leaking into the cabin. Another source of leaks there is the body nuts themselves that the channel bolts to. To fix that just use some blue loctite or some thread sealant compound (not tape) to seal up the interface between the bolt threads and the nut threads. Could also use some silicone sealant as well.

Here's the post in my build thread about this issue: https://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/for...l=1#post236160

Took off the winter tires for the season. Blizzaks do a great job in the snow and ice, but compared to the KM3s, they sure make the Hummer look ugly. If you ever wondered how much a difference 35s vs 32s make on the H3, look at the second picture!

Just replaced the rear door lower hinge. Man I should have done that a couple years ago. The rear door closes so easy now. Plus it got rid of 95% of the noises the H3 made. It is almost like driving a new rig.

Took the H3 to Cleghorn last weekend to do a pre Moab run. Makes a huge difference with the front and rear sway bars disconnected. Cleghorn isn't too difficult, just a lot of deep ruts. Letting my son Derek get some seat time before he takes over.

Were you able to pop it back into place? About 4 or 5 years ago my passenger got ripped off in a car wash, hung by the wires, and I was able to snap it back on. Lasted a long while after that, I only just replaced it early last year or the year prior cause it wouldn't sit still at highway speeds

Had the starter replaced yesterday, was struggling pretty hard for the past few months and I almost got stranded at my local Cabela's. Also, the seal around the sunroof was replaced, but the Chevy dealership didn't adhere it to the glass so it fell off when I opened it up over the weekend. Taking that back and I should finally be done with my leak issue... *knock on wood*. Saving up to redo my rear suspension, going to replace the leaf springs (with EMU's), shocks, bushings, and bump stops. My rear end is sagging more than a thug's jeans since none of it has ever been replaced and I'm at about 115k miles. Thinking about moving down to 33's on my next set of tires and uncranking the torsion bar, I'm sick of the trash ride lately. However, my poor ride comfort my just be due to a worn out rear suspension and rocking Mud Grapplers. I guess we'll see how it feels once the rear suspension is refreshed

Nope, the plastic screw bosses all shattered on the front shell.

I might try a patch job for the next few weeks and then pick up a new used assembly from car-parts.
