Lots of grime had built up over time and those auto store leather cleaners weren't making a dent in the dirt.
For the driver's seat, I used an all purpose cleaner and water with a bristle brush to get the surface dirt off as well as clean deeper into the grooves. After that, I used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get the stubborn dirt. The passenger side seat didn't need the magic eraser. Be careful with that Magic Eraser as it's quite abrasive. It's what I need to get these seats clean but I'd be careful especially on darker seats.
Here's a progress photo showing how effective the cleaning was. I still did more cleaning after this but it was certainly time to get it done.
Final result. That cracking on the right developed years ago. The seats aren't perfect but they look pretty close to new, cleanliness-wise. After rubbing in some leather conditioner, they feel great.
