We had a small event this weekend which consisted of a long drive through the dunes and across the beach. It was mainly a Jeep thing, but someone had to represent the Hummer brand, in addition, they needed a V8 incase they needed to be towed
Some of the trucks that were there.
Cruising on the dunes.
Jeeps doing donuts. It was fun watching. I tried doing some but the AWD just keeps me driving through instead of drifting. Its a shame it can't be disconnected.
A shallow sea-water crossing, approx 50 cms deep. I wanted to show I could do it (since Hummer has great fording capabilities) but I decided to go around it since I don't have rust undercoating, unlike the jeeps that did, and Im not to fond of sea-water corroding my truck, even after a thorough wash sea water gets to places not easily washable.
This was a very steep climb, for some reason the pic doesn't do any justice to it at all. I was the second in-line to do it, managed to in one go :horns:
The other V8 in the group. The truck is a monster through the mud/wet sand. My friend in the H2 got excited when he saw that I did that climb, tried to do it, banged his car hard just at the incline. He says he saw his speed drop from 30 miles to 15 in an instant. Anyway, he drove around it to avoid causing any damage.
A poser pic
Hopefully there will be another run next weekend, and more people to join
