Painting Chrome H2 Grill???

My apologies because this I am sure has been asked before but does anyone have feedback on painting a chrome grill to match the vehicle color?

1) Do I need to sand blast the chrome first?
2) Am I better off just buying one primed? Painted? If so, where is the best place to look?

Thanks for you help. 11596503_002.jpg

Some have had success with scuffing it with a 3M pad, cleaning and painting. Others have it chip and peel no matter what. The best route would be to get a non chrome one.

I was in the category of not having success with painting my grill. It chipped a few months after I sprayed it. Ended up getting Line-x sprayed on it, it has held up very well since then.

Thanks guys. I did attempt to paint my old chrome grill. I scuffed it up and literally watched the paint bounce off of it.

H3slate your grill and fenders look killer! If I had fenders like that I would be doing exactly that. Cheers.

Any suggestions on where to look for a painted bumper??? thx again.
