DELAYED FOR MUDDY/RAINY CONDITIONS.

I will be heading to the mojave road next weekend for a two day trip across the Mojave. My girlfriend and her daughter will be with us and I will be hauling a trailer as we plan to continue to Utah after the trip. From recently running the road the areas I drove were all dry including the lake bed but I didn't get the chance to do any side trips so I cant speak for all of the road. We would love to get the chance to travel with some fellow H4Oers and look forward to a great trip. For those of you who haven't traveled this road before it is quite easy and any hummer can do it without even trying.

Meeting time 9:00-9:30 am Departing around 10:00am
Meeting place either Chevron in Laughlin at S Casino Dr & Bruce Woodbury Dr, Laughlin, Clark, Nevada 89029 or Gas station in Baker CA at 71808 Baker Blvd, Baker, CA 92309 Obviously depends on whether we run east west or west to east.
GPS route of the road can be found here on the first link http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/File:Mojave_Road.kmz
If you have any questions or need my phone number PM me
Thanks guys

Dadgumit I have been wanting to get with a group for months to do that again. I have a conflict that weekend I have tried for two months to get in a Concealed Carry class and that is the weekend I am scheduled for me and my daughter to go.
I guess I'm not ready yet, you guys have fun and tease us with pictures.

Hunner there have been some conversations about doing the Mojave Trail with a group. We are running out of good weather to do it fairly quickly so it may be a fall run. We need to do a Death Valley weekend also.

Hey guys unbelievably my T started emitting a popping sound today. Its going in tomorrow but if its not addressed by tuesday I will probably call the trip. I don't wanna have it break out there or not make it out and leave anyone out alone.

AS OF NOW however I am planning on starting early saturday morning and ending sunday afternoon. I do want to mention that I will be stopping on a regular basis to take pictures, enjoy the scenery, and give my girlfriend and her daughter a break from the bumps. Even so we should easily finish the road in that time. I will keep updating this thread in the next few days but if I cancel this trip I will be doing another one in the following month before it gets too hot.

Hope they can get it taken care of, I had to drop mine off today to get some things taken care of.

The pace your planning sounds good I was hoping to take pictures as well and the dog will need to get out as well to keep her from whining.

I was in on some of those discussions but nothing has worked out, yet.
Huh, you don't have AC in that H1? lol
I went 3/28/08 can't believe it was that long ago.
I was going to post a couple of shots of wildflowers but Photopuket beta is acting up grrrrrr

the a/c in an H1 is pretty much a joke. even the upgraded one isn't that great.

So it looks like rain on wed in mojave possibly thursday and friday. Depending on the weather certain portions of the road (definetly the lake bed) will be out of the question. We will keep an eye out and decide as weather unfolds

The lake bed would be the only thing I would be too concerned with and that isn't really much of the trail or all that exciting anyway. Could make the rest of the trail more fun and would certainly keep the dust down.

Hunner as to the H1 AC. It works ok but not great and and once it gets behind it never catches up. Lots of volume for that AC to cool. Also I prefer to drive with my windows down when I am on the trail. I have been out in the Mojave Desert in 115 degree temps. Not that bad while you are moving but gets pretty toasty whenever you stop. Makes having a fire to hang out around not so attractive either when it cools down to 94 degrees in the evening. :)

Just messin witcha. We got lucky and had fairly pleasant weather. Being from Arkansas we were amazed how at higher temps out there the humidity was much lower than we are used to having to deal with here. It can be 98 degrees here with 98% humidity and your sopping wet. Out there it was great if you moved slow you didn't even break a sweat. I always try to move slow................
I have heard when that lake bed gets wet it's like driving on snot. That was one of the reason I took my anchors.
Rain to keep the dust down would be great.

Yeah but re placing them every 4 foot will take awhile longer than pulling 150 feet at a time! lol
