skid plates

So for some reason my skid plate has only 3 out of the 4 screws that hold it to the frame. Can i buy screws like it at the home depot or autozone? or do i need to special order some sort of special screw?

If I get an oil change done at a shop they almost always lose one. You can buy them at any hardware store, be sure to get flange bolts. Don't remember the size right now but you can take one and figure it out (they are all metric). I've also had mine vibrate loose over time.

Also I would get ones that are 1/2" longer just to make it easier to reinsert, especially if your plates get bent.

Mine was like that when I bought it but I was anal about them matching and order the bolt from GM. iirc it cost me about $2 and something.

BTW if you want to get the bolt from a hardware store, they are M8X1.25 and length depends on location but there around 30-35mm long.

I always have two spares in the glove box. Yes indeed 8MM X 1.25 pitch.

A torque wrench and Locktite or any thread locker can be your friend!

Unfortunitly with the amount of salt they use on the roads here in the winter, I will stick with Never-Seez. I couldn't agree more about the torque wrench though.
